    Unmentioned, I think:

    Twinkle Tale
    ResQ
    Mega Turrican
Battle Mania Daiginj? (not the greatest, but very cool)
    M.U.S.H.A.
    Atomic Runner
    Gley Lancer
    Sub-Terrania
Red Zone (haven't played yet, but it's a technical achievement and must be noted)
    Animaniacs (Konami's Dynamite Headdy)
    Mamono Hunter Yohko

    Vouching for MUST PLAY:

    Contra Hard Corps
    Alien Soldier
    Panorama Cotton
    Dynamite Headdy
Micro Machines 96/Military (probably the best multiplayer game on the system)
    Ranger-X

Micro Machines and Micro Machines Military are worthwhile. Many hours of my childhood were spent playing that.

I think I only completed them once...

Subterrania is a great game for the system. It gets a lot of hate for being overly difficult, but the difficulty can be lowered and it's actually quite reasonable on easy. Like Zyrinx's other titles, the music and graphics are excellent.

I saw Red Zone (another game from Zyrinx) mentioned earlier in this thread and I'd like to add that while it is a rather impressive technical achievement, the gameplay is pretty iffy. Definitely worth checking out though, it's quite cheap.

Also, I figured it would be worth mentioning Lotus II: RECS. It's a Genesis port of Lotus III for the PC/Amiga and it's a pretty good racing game. Much Better than Lotus Turbo Challenge, the previous game in the series.

Top Gear II (also available in SNES with music during race, but at lower resolution)
    Shadow Dancer
The Lion King (it doesn't have SNES collor depth or PCM power, but extra resolution is welcome)
Cool Spot (and if you like it, Spot Goes to Hollywood later)
Rock 'N Roll Racing (again, no sprite rotation and WAY worse sound than SNES, but it has different layouts for division B and A, which SNES versoin doesn't. Anyway, the Yamaha sounds well enough, also it has an extra song)
Sunset Riders (the levels are totally different from Arcade/SNES, that's why you have to pay it in Genesis AS WELL AS Arcade)
Snow Brothers (sprite limit can become a serious problem in Floor 40 boss)
    Pacmania
Puggsy (it has awesome music and it has lots of levels, 51 plus 5 hidden ones to be more precise)
Columns 3 (CPU can be a bitch)
DecapAttack (the original version is sort of gay, but this one is awesome)

Saint Sword, for god's sake! Adventure game with great music (Final Boss's one is a good power metal)

Isn't Magical Hat the original one (japanese version)? If I'm wrong then I'm sorry.//forums.sonicretro.org/public/style_emoticons/default/sad.png

Also, DecapAttack's introduction theme is also a typical power metal, I love it.

Mega Turrican definitely is one of the few genesis games I don't hear many people talk about. I know the Turrican games are very popular on the SNES but, Mega Turrican is just as good as those are. If anything I lean towards Mega Turrican if only for the soundtrack. Its a great listen, check it out on YouTube sometime.

Not played the game myself but this I've recently found has impressive art direction. Super slick animations, incredible detail in the backgrounds and impressive sprite scaling.

Lotus RECS is good, but I hated the music. LTT had great music, but that paled to the Amiga, so yeah, they're inferior ports, but great games nonetheless.
