I noticed that like the first time I ever played.

 

Looks like tails from the side to me, flat face compared to knuckles and sonic.

I never noticed it either, sort of cool.

 

I think Aquaslash meant that Tails' face is so badly shaped that he looks like a flicky. Common sense would tell you that if Sonic and Knuckles are there, the other one would be Tails =P

I noticed that the first time I got to that level. Maybe it's just more obvious on the PC version.

 

I recall some description text that was found previously in SA2B.

 

I figured this would be a perfect place to post this, since it really has no other place. For years I have wondered what this switch does in Lava Reef Act 2. It does not open up a door on the far right side of the screen, that's opened up by it's own separate switch. Any idea what it does? (see the poorly circled area; I used Paint of course)

 

The poorly circled switch opens the inaccurately rectangled hidden door. It leads to a special stage ring. It can also be accessed from the other side.

 

Thanks for the reply! Almost as soon as I saw your reply, I was thinking for a moment and thought about it being a special stage ring. Guess I was right! Usually I am too busy playing through the level to ever even think about going to the left inside of the wall to the ring, hence why I had no clue about this.

How the hell do people not know that? I've known that since I was around eight years old. >_>

 

Gotta say, this is one of the most memorable special stage locations for me in the whole of S&K, I'm surprised so many people here know so little about the game. I've also known about this since I was young.

 

I don't see how people can complain about recent Sonic games suffering from "just hold right" syndrome, it's quite obvious it's what they've been doing their whole lives.
