The chao system was meant to be compatible with SA2B's so I'm not surprised there are leftovers.

Hill Top Zone 2 has a pretty odd glitch involving the area with the hidden invincibility monitor. Stay there once the lava goes up- Sonic should push against the lava, he won't get hurt by it.

But it gets weirder; once the lava comes down, you can run out of that space and INTO the lava. You'll eventually die once you get far enough outside, or you can actually jump around onto the invisible blocks where the layout actually is.

    wat wat indeed.

The glitch probably wasn't found because the staff assumed anyone in their right mind would get the hell out of the passage before the lava reached that point. Interesting find.

Found some stuff in SA2B (Unsure about the Dreamcast version) a while back. In White Jungle (Shadow's Green forest-like stage), there's a lot of random objects floating in the air right above where you start.
They're probably left overs from a previous layout that was removed and they left the objects because they're so high up that you'd never see them normally. Just thought this was interesting to note. :v:

If you can't see them normally, how did you see them? Is there some debug mode in SA2B?

I use to own an Action replay, so I used the moon jump code and discovered them while messing around.

Sonic 3C proto 408 - early versions of S&K special stages with different palettes and different layouts do exist.

Couldn't using Action Replay hack the game and possibly have some unintended side effects like debug mode?

Possibly, but I doubt that's the case here. Everything else was normal, I just had the ability to float is all. =P

I only just now noticed this, not sure if this was known, but the music that plays right before the battle against Robotnik in Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine is the same music that plays on the pick the game screen on that one Sonic collection game that had Sonic 1 and 2 and Mean Bean Machine on one megadrive cart. I think that was a Europe-only release though, so I'm confused as to how I know of it. I blame mega super big collections of roms or something. I can't even find the rom, but I know the damn thing exists!

Sonic Classics! That was the name of the rom!

There is a secret text in Sky High Zone 1:

Near the end (we're just below the signpost here), they wrote something with the shades.
It's easy to read "END" vertically, while I'm not sure about the horizontal text, it looks like "TO?", but I doubt they would put a cyrillic character there.

It might have meant to spell "TOM" Maybe? But just missing a Column, is there anyone in the credits called Tom, Thomas, or something?

That would have been kind of them, I always wanted to have my name in a Sonic level :3

Also yes, there are some TOMs in Sonic 2's credits:Sonic_the_Hedgehog_2_%288-bit%29#Production_Credits

My first thought was "NOT" but backwards, so that if you mirrored it it would kinda read, "NOT END" or something. Does that chunk of tiles come from near the end of the level? Does it come from a part of the level that looks like the end but isn't?

Wow, some of the stuff developers will put in randomly into level layouts :P

And about the Sonic and Robotnik one, the 8-bit games had ARZ? Or is that Sonic Pocket Adventure?
