The Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Megathread

Predictions:

Episode 2: Tails joins in on the adventure, Knuckles decks you for your Emeralds.
Episode 3: Knuckles joins in on the adventure, shows you Hidden Palace for the Super Emeralds (willingly, this time, as opposed to his failed Solid Snake moment.)

 

We already know the returning enemy for episode 2 so I doubt knuckles will do anything like that.

 

Whether or not the levels are meant for them, I would just like to play as a character I like in Episode 1. The levels not being designed for them in particular shouldn't really stop SEGA from putting them in and I don't see how making a lock-on function would do anything but make their fans happier and probably make them more money.

 

Wait, we do?

 

I don't think it's likely, but I wonder if, like Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, there'll be any leftover beta material in Sonic 4's game files that aren't used in-game....

Probably not. I'd assume that SEGA/Dimps would remove all unused stuff before releasing the final product, but you never know.

 

Maybe like 10 years from now, someone brave enough would go to the sources of sonic 4 and find the beta with the minecart.

 

How would that work out? Considering the mine cart is staying in the game (But no longer motion controlled.) how would it be possible to find a beta mine cart? I don't think they'd leave the mine cart gimmick version of Lost Labyrinth Zone Act 2 in the game files along with the final torch and dynamite version too.

 

I thought someone at Retro already had that beta... :v:

Not only that, but it'll be incorporated into "Sonic 4 Long Version". And people will love it.

The XBLA version was ripped, and Scarred Sun stated some time ago that Sonic Retro have it safely archived.

Clearly, he's new to Sonic. There's no other reason why Tails' full name isn't up there. Otherwise, not bad.

 

I'll give him credit for not using the Sonic 06 render of Knuckles, even if that one looks dim compared to Sonic.

...Incidentally, I don't recognize the one he did use. Anyone want to tell me where it's from?
