You can manipulate a lot of people with cope. When TSR was coming out some of the "leakers" said that it would have both cars and on-foot racing, because the idea of them directly referencing Sonic R so much in the teasers and then just making another car game was absurd to some people. Now, we have the prospect of Generations' entire script potentially being replaced but not really updating any of the animations to match it, and that sounds like such a weird decision that it's easy for someone to take the path of least resistance and just think "oh, but it's just one option, I don't have to worry if I don't like it".

 

Okay I've been hearing talk about this so much that it's been bugging me:

We have a new voice cast in this game? Wasn't Coleen O'Shaghnessy the voice of tails since Colors, after they moved on from the 4kids cast (save Mike Pollock)?

 

No, Kate Higgins voiced Tails in Colours and the OG version of Generations at least; she also reprised her role for the new lines in Colours Ultimate. I presume there are other casting differences too, but having not played a 3D Sonic game since Generations I'm not aware of which other cast members have changed since...!

Yeah, a lot of people didn't know Colleen wasn't Kate in the initial Sonic Boom trailers, which were her first appearance. As for others, off the top of my head, Troy Baker was Espio until Forces, where Matt Mercer took over (who can sound really similar anyway). Knuckles was Travis Willingham until TSR where Dave B Mitchell took over (and sounded really awkward until he started sounding decent in Frontiers). Icky Vicky got replaced as Omega by Aaron Laplante in the same game, although now they're apparently just having Roger voice Omega? I'm not sure what's up with that one, but I guess everyone can sound pretty similar with the heavy filter. Silver also went from Quinton Flynn (I don't have a pun for that one) to Bryce Papenbrook around this time, and...I dunno, something about Papenbrook's voice rubs me the wrong way. He always sounds like he's got something in his mouth. He has a little bit of that "Tom Hanks throat".

Looking at the wiki, apparently Laura Bailey got replaced by Erica Lindbeck as Blaze too, but I have not heard her utter a single fucking word since OG Generations soooooo

 

She was in Team Sonic Racing!

 

Collection Room, I think.

 

And Omochao, both as of TSR. The new Omochao lines we've heard from demos are definitely Erica.

All of Generations’ budget and production value went into the levels. For everything else outside of them, a grand total of 3 dollars was spent.

 

The Switch version is out in the wild.

A person who got the game early says it runs well and doesn't look blurry. No word on if it's 30 or 60 FPS.

 

Fuck yea, consistent FPS sounds good to me.

 

All things considered, it's surprising how little functional leaked information there is about a game releasing in a week that we definitely know has been leaked.
