Sonic X Shadow Generations thread, movie level out now

Corocoro Shadow manga is real.

 

I do wonder what angle they're taking with it. The art looks very detailed and serious, and we already have the animations doing Shadow's backstory. An original Shadow tale, perhaps? If so, I wonder who's writing.

 

According to this article there will be a public demo of Sonic x Shadow Generations at Gamescom.

Japanese Sonic Twitter account has stated that the author of the Corocoro manga is Yuki Imada
Seems their only credits are Tengoku no Ragnarok and MINI 4 KING? At least that's all I get from a quick Google search.

 

I think this probably deserve its own thread, yeah.

 

Just one more heads-up re: the manga news - the artist who'll be drawing it has posted their own announcement image on Twitter, showing off another look at Shadow drawn in their style. I have to say, it's a really appealing look - definitely captures an edgy and kinetic vibe, which seems a good fit for Shadow as a character. Hopefully that'll translate well onto the page, too! Got to admit, I'd love to see a Sonic anime series that uses designs akin to this one day.

 

I really like that art. The only tiny thing is I wish the body was slightly more tapered. He looks a bit bottom heavy. I tried to edit it to show what I mean, but it honestly ended up looking pretty much the same lol. Anyway, I really enjoy the look as is.

What I'm saying is: they should totally turn Black Doom into a cackling scary puppet creature that gets his ass beaten by Shadow at the end of Shadow Generations:

 

The original Generations is being delisted as a standalone game on September 9th; however, it will still be available in bundles on Steam and Xbox. So it's not going away entirely and will still be available for purchase in some form.

Seems fair enough. Better than delisting it wholesale like they did with the games in Origins.

 

Keep in mind this means the only way to get the original on Steam is a bundle costing over $200, unless you already bought other Sonic games in the past. This is not at all ideal.

 

I'm glad at least SEGA is being transparent about this. Surprised that even the mods will be preserved.

 

The bundles change all the time so there's no guarantee it'll be $200.

It's not ideal but it's better than simply not existing. And people who want the original have a month to get it and keep it.
