Sonic Unleashed

I kind of hope that the game turns out to be bad, as I will be incredibly embarrassed if I end up enjoying something with a concept this dire.

 

Where's the press release from a little while ago that said they'd make the next Sonic game good? We need to file a class action lawsuit or something for false advertising.

 

Alright, so the concept of Werewolf Sonic is incredibly dumb. But maybe it will turn out ok. We haven't seen anything about this Were-Sonic yet, minus the concept art. Perhaps we'll all be surprised.

Either way the game certainly looks beautiful. Fuck, who knows? Maybe you won't even have to play as the werewolf?

So the video is down.

Think sonic rush meets sonic and the secret rings. A lot like klanoa, with the camera constantly moving around to keep the view as 2.5D as possible. At points, it looks like it swings behind sonic to go to a sonic and the secret rings style view.

The ring energy meter works like the speed break meter from sonic and the secret rings. Music isn't hard rock, it's sort of poppish - a lot like the music from Sonic rush but not as house-based. I have the video still opened, fully loaded. Someone tell me how to save it or find it on my PC and I'll upload it somewhere else.

Okay, this game has won my attention with that video.

This might have potential, but I guess it'll be one of those "I need to play it first" games, as that's how I judge new Sonic games these days.

The gameplay looked awfully linear, but there is potential there. Probably just a demo course, without all the fun path stuff done. (At least, that's what I'm praying)
