We've come a long way....

 

That first trailer desensitized me to any form of bad CGI so I cannot care that much about some wonky shots in the trailer

 

...said the fan of Sonic the Hedgehog...

 

Sega has yet to piss on Sonic & the Black Knight and I therefore do not full under that definition

 

Mufasa about to emulate the success of the first two Sonic movies.

 

If I had to make a honest guess, Shadow's neither "dying" or being redeemed Knuckles-style. I bet he'll just disappear at the end of the film while somebody else goes "We haven't seen the last of him".

And then he'll show up out of nowhere to save the day during the climax of Sonic 4 in a moment that will have Sonic fans gushing about how "peak" it is for the next five goddamn years.

Anyways, Shadow's lips are perfectly fine. I at the very least bet the shot of Tails blasting towards the camera felt way better storyboarded than how it's actually conveyed in film.

Note + Trivia: There is a difference between Beat Boards, Storyboards and Animatics.

 

When I saw that Tails scene, I thought it was just something playful/goofy the developers were doing. I do agree that Shadow scene is mad weird looking.

 

Still fucking nuts the movies are as faithful as they are when the first film was originally gonna look like this…

So, after this is over and done, who you think we’re getting for the next movie? I feel like they have to do Chaos, Metal Sonic, or both. The problem with Metal Sonic is he’s sadly just Shadow without a backstory, so they wouldn’t be able to make an entire movie about him.

 

I genuinely believe that a time travel story involving Amy and Metal might be on their minds. Not a direct Sonic CD adaptation, but something close enough. Sega almost certainly wants Amy for marketing reasons alone, given how she's been retroactively shoved into Team Sonic with the whole "Fast Friends Forever" -thing.

Introducing them simultaneously would honestly be quite beneficial for both, to be honest; Amy wouldn't sell enough tickets on her own, while Metal alone would feel like a step down in scope.

 

I genuinely think they're going to tackle Silver. Will it be an 06 adaptation? God no. But this new generation of Sonic fans would absolutely eat up a telekinetic hedgehog from the future.
