Easy, make it a Multiverse Movie (if Multiverse is still THE fad in the late 2020s)

 

It's also important to note where Paramount as a company stands right now. They're actively cutting budgets and looking for a merger right now because they're not doing so well financially. They're not about to kill their golden goose in the film space.

Aside from the fact that the film franchise has done so well on its own financially, it's one of those franchises that theoretically appeal to a wide demographic. Kids are obsessed more than ever with Sonic which means merchandise sales are at a high. Sonic is a western pop culture icon of the 90s which means there's a nostalgic angle for adults. Sonic is quite frankly a safe bet for Paramount and a sure way to make a profit. They're not gonna stop short of the films flopping or Sega pulling the licensing deal for some reason.

 

These Movie Studios are marrying into each other harder than an Alabaman Couple, who the hell is left for Paramount to MERGE into?

Like what are their options here, Universal-Paramount? So we can have Illumination's Sonic the Hedgehog

That aside, they're going to keep making these until they stop making money. I don't know why some people keep saying or expecting full adaptions. None of these projects have pulled anything significant from the games outside of small lore bits and even those are done loose as hell. It's all been a hodgepodge so far to tell an entirely different story within the film universe they crafted. We're just lucky that the creative team behind them are aware enough to pull the cooler things from the games to shove into Wade's world.

 

It's looking like Paramount's gonna merge with Skydance Media, although they did look at Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. Discovery, Apollo Global Management, & Allen Media Group. There was an upset there with that last one because they were on track to merge with Skydance before Allen Media swooped in last minute with a proposal. When lawsuits were threatened, they withdrew so it's back to Skydance.

Paramount and Skydance have been in business together for several years at this point as both have developed and produced movies in the Top Gun, Mission: Impossible, Transformers, and Star Trek franchises.

In all honesty, I doubt this will affect Sonic whatsoever other than more capital for the studio which may or may not mean better budgets.

 

So a new Jakks wave for Sonic 3 was revealed.
And it includes "Tails in a Chao hat"....

No Super Shadow?! He must turn Super in the movie. This makes no sense.

That doesn't mean we won't have Super Shadow. And like, pretty sure some people wouldn't want to be spoiled with it as well.

 

They could also be holding Super Shadow for another bundle. This is just an individual figure release. Shadow appears to be short packed so they might be shoving him into another wave to address the supply. Although it ticks me off that he has a different head sculpt for this wave.

Why they don't just give us an even amount of Shadows and Sonics is a mystery to me here, as they're both popular characters Would it kill them to have 2 Sonics and 2 Shadows in a box instead of 3 Sonics and 1 Shadow?

 

I don’t consider the reveal of Super Shadow a spoiler unless it came in a villain playset.

The Tails figure immediately reminded of TMNT (2007) Cowabunga Carl. The van came with a removable mascot head you could put on the standard figure. I have both. I’m sure you can remove the Chao head.

 

New bit of clothing merch got out too. Apparently "This ends now" is the marketing tagline for the movie.

 

Have we seen this render before? This looks like one of '05 game render that Shadow is holding a gun while he walks.

 

That's the "Mum said it's my turn on the Xbox!" render that leaked right before the trailer dropped.

It looks much better when it's not plastered on a cup.
