Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing

I find the remixes very nice. I think it's when the track is shown in a loop and you must press A to continue.

 

Chemical Plant. Hydrocity would make me nerdgasm. Hoping to pick this up later today, and have a couple friends over to play split screen with. Can't wait!

 

The DS version works for me in Desmume.



Nice sound and performance, but the graphics can flicker and the menu text is missing, making it hard to differentiate among everything.

Does anyone know if there are version comparisons of the 360 and PS3 versions yet? Just by playing the demos, the PS3 version is like the PS3 version of Sonic Unleashed where the framerate isn't capped to 30 - so you can get 60 in some areas too. Maybe Lens of Truth will do a comparison later like they did with Sonic Unleashed?

 

So I caved in and bought the game, and for some reason my dad just barges in the room and wants to play it before I do like he's some desperate kid at Christmas.

Anyway, I've been playing the DS version, and I was surprised at how faithful a port this seems to be. It plays very well, doesn't feel half-assed at all.

 

Just played the game a couple of times, and I must say I didn't expect it to be so fun.

A shame about:

-The framerate (came to a split second halt many times).
-Clipping through the background.
-It doesn't support GameCube controllers.
-Sonic is represented by Sonic Heroes. wtf.



By the way, is it me or does the steering sound like in the original OutRun?

 

To all of you who are mad about it being Sonic Heroes...

Remember that game was Sonic's 1st multi-platform game.

They chose it so people from any system knows what game it's from!

 

Also of all the 3D games it represents Sonic best, most people don't think Sonic when they see Apotos or Kingdom Valley.

 

Thanks, I was wondering when that nonsense was going to end. Really, everyone who's interested in playing this should buy this game. Aside from unbalanced track selection from the franchises (please, let there be Shenmue specific DLC so I can tell Sega directly I want Shenmue III) this game is awesome. In fact, even the framerate has been better for me as opposed to the demo (360) but perhaps I'm imagining that.

It definitely goes on the list with Crash Team Racing and Konami Krazy Racers as great Mario Kart clones.

It smashes MKDS easily. The tracks are fully animated and are bigger than the ones from Mario Kart DS. Delfino square buildings are just textures, in, "Studio Amigo" (the city with a purple road) the buidings are 3D models, very detailed to tell the truth.

And wouldn't argue with you. The only other logical possibility is an actual toy RC, which is unlikely (the game will probably never be that popular). But heck, if they can make the controller appear in my hand out of thin air, it'd be a good buy. For party tricks and the like.

 

Oh, for those thinking that singing guy (whatever his name is) was featured only in the credits, you're actually greeted with his auto-tuned voice every time you win a cup, just so you don't forget about his existance.

Unless you skip the celebration before the music ends. Which is what I'm always gonna do.

 

I don't know man, the classic games have been on all platforms at this point.

Although I'm honestly surprised it isn't just Green Hill again.

 

I mean is that actually anything from Jet Set Radio series, or just random bullshit.

And most of the remixes are very nice, but fucking THQ did a better job remaking Hideki Naganuma's tracks on the GBA.

 

I finally decided to take a little break and oh my fucking god I love it. This game shits all over Mario Kart for what it's worth and mother of holy all the content and thought going into this. I never thought I would eventually buy this but I'm glad it did, one of my best investments this entire year.

I'll gladly play anyone online with anyone. Again, gamertag is CarbonExt. At the moment I don't have a real mainer but I've mostly played as AiAi and Banjo.

It turns out the reason the Steam release was delayed may be because Sega had to take out SecuROM and implement proprietary DRM.

My source tells me there's a chance this particular release could be pushed back even farther than Tuesday due to the situation.

But, hey...no SecuROM...right?

Also, I wouldn't mind if there were some sort of rudimentary time trial leaderboard established here for course records, just within this community. Would that be better suited to a separate thread or a continuation of this one?
