Crazy how they're doing practically everything right and they still make the game $70 on base. What the fuck, lmfao.

The little extra MSRP ain't worth the overall sales pain, SEGA, come on. And after Mario Kart got shat on for being $80 too.

    1. I'm not supporting it, but I do have an idea. It comes out September, so that means it'll be up for the Holiday / Fall Sale. So what if people just wait for it to go on sale?
    2. They sold the SA1 Sonic Skin separately afterward even though it was a Pre Order Bonus, so it's likely they'll do the same for Werehog.
    3. Sonic Pricings start out at full price and then go down in the longrun (Frontiers, Superstars)
    4. I want to pretend people have standards, but Modern Gaming Industry sales + MicroTransactions + $70-80 Video Games even aside from Mario Kart World prove that there are barely any.

So it seems like Alex, Steve, and Creeper are Wave 1 of the Season Pass. Which means we can expect potentially multiple characters and vehicles plus a new track with each wave. So that leaves a wave for + - Spongebob and Patrick   , a wave for + - all four TMNT   , a wave for + - Aang   , and then two more waves.

No idea if + - Movie or IDW characters   are part of that, or will be free updates like Miku, Ichiban, and Joker.

+ - Tangle and Whisper   are also coming as DLC, and judging by how Minecraft, it could be possible they take one slot. So, + - Minecraft, SpongeBob, TMNT, Avatar, and IDW   make 5, it could be possible the last slot is something entirely different.

The reason to Sonic isn't as bad as Mario so far (it is also less popular, though), I think people are unfortunately used to 70 bucks for a new game so it's mostly getting a "yeesh, getting that on sale" as well as justified "what the fucks."

Sonic, though, will go on sale, so the holidays won't be hurt, but I wonder if its launch will underperform.

The game's nice, the release date's nice, Miku, Ichiban, and Joker are nice, these are nice draws, people would not mind $60, so why the fuck is it $70?

And that coy little shit with making the Switch 1 version $60, oh naw.

Nintendo is just arrogant. They'll make Mario Kart $80 because they know people will buy no matter what. Sega is sneaky. They do this kind of shit.

And that's why It's best not assume things from leaks.

This trailer was sick, tho'. I ended getting (almost) literally everything I wanted, lol. And on top of that: Hatsune Miku's model looks amazing and I dare say, way better than Fortnife's one.

Hope some people will calm down with doomposting now *yikes, the price tho').

Frontiers and Superstars have been on sale for ages, not to mention were also on Sale early on. Such as Black Friday and Steam Sales
So if you don't like the price, you do have leeway in the long run.

That ain't the point. No wants that to be the standard. Doesn't matter if we can get it on sale down the line. They gonna keep raising these prices and eventuall a "good" sale is just going to be the 50 bucks.

  11. I'm surprised by the price. I'd expect a spin-off to be cheaper. Maybe it's because of development costs.

That's true, but this still sucks. I actually want to buy it at launch, and a lot of other people do too.

And yeah, I don't want this shit to be a standard. Even $60 is pushing it as a standard.

I know this is an extremely unbased take but it's quite common for games in the UK to be £65 now. I'm not that surprised. I don't think it's that unfair considering the amount of new content. The polish is not up to snuff which is a problem.

But I find it hard to get outraged about this stuff. Just don't buy it at launch. Literally rhe easiest thing to do. Doing literally nothing. I also thought Mario Kart World being so expensive was ridiculous and so just didn't buy it. And I won't buy it for years

They've made an expensive game and are shelling out a lot of money for it. I admit it's dubious business sense. But I'd rather pay £60 for something rich and interesting than £40 for boredom inducing budget game like TSR.

I do appreciate how the response is largely "$70 is too much for any video game, I'll wait for a sale" than the idea that this particular game isn't worth it.

It says a lot about Sonic's improved reputation that people are regular gamer outraged and it's not just dunking on the Hedgehog.

  16. Its weird how prominent + - Nickelodeon   is in the roster. They want to treat each IP as its own thing, but the audience knows they all belong to one studio, one very prominent brand. It feels like + - Viacom   are trying to infiltrate Sonic Racing Crossworlds and turn it into a backdoor + - Nicktoons Racing   .

I'm not necessarily against any of these crossovers, but I would prefer more variety. + - Ronald McDonald, Guy Fieri, Dr. Sandra Lee aka Dr Pimple Popper, Miss Cleo, Miss Rachel, a Vending Machine, Colonel Sanders, Mega Man, the Costco Guys, Jaws, Young Sheldon, Young Dexter, Skibidi Toilet.   This should either be the Fortnite of kart racers, or it should just be a Sonic/SEGA racer.

I didn't even buy Mario Kart World for full price, and I sure as hell don't intend to spend $70-80 on ANY video game. Donkey Kong, Kirby Air Riders, none of it.

I don't care if it's common, I don't care if other companies are also doing it. If your third dog shits on the carpet you're going to scold them and be upset, common or uncommon.

$70 was already standard for a good few years now, and that standard is not getting LOWERED as we rapidly approach a recession.

Gaming is a luxury, after all. Im probably gonna wait on a sale myself, and its a bummer its not cheaper but i am finding it hard to be mad that its just, standard price for the standard addition and the digital deluxe content will likely just be available as dlc anyways, so... just gonna wait on that too i guess
