Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Coming Sep. 25, 2025

It almost sounds like His World for a couple of bars. It's clearly not His World, but is easily mistaken for that off the bat.

 

Well, besides the fact it was used in the trailer, huh..

Kind of this mixed with Mobile Olympic Games theme.

 

Oh now that you mentioned the mobile game I guess part of it reminded me of Reach for the Stars because I remember thinking that too when that came out.

But maybe I'm way off.

Though the direction of the ost does seem to go for the one those games had. Kudo to the person that mentioned that some posts back.

 

To me the main theme sounds like it used "it doesn't matter" and "Daytona USA, let's go away" as influence.
You can hum it doesn't matter with the tune and those notes keep repeating, like in let's go away.

 

Got in. Don’t have a PS5 yet (my wife/girlfriend at the time couldn’t find one here in Denmark in advance of Frontiers so she picked up a Series X instead and I’ve yet to NEED a PS5 - Xbox dev mode emulators and backwards compatibility are also pretty ace), so I’m seeing if my little brother or friend wants the code. In the event no one I know wants it, I’ll send it to whomever asks first. So DM me if you need a code and see this and I’ll respond when I know.

Looking forward to hearing people’s responses to the test. I hope it can carve out a long term audience. Sega needs some racing representation on consoles again and maybe this could be good practice for a new home release of Initial D (cope, I know).

Well...at least there'll be PC modding. And I'd rather they nail the gameplay than the music if I have to choose, but wow that choir sample ain't it.

I'm just kinda wondering what the direction they're TRYING to go for is.

For those who don't have codes what part of the game do you want us to tell you about most?

 

Livestreams and clip / image sharing are allowed, according to the SEGA Asia site. They cite a separate streaming guidelines page but that seems to just be about their games in general that I can't imagine they'd enforce that brutally. So there will probably be pretty extensive coverage.

 

I wish the playtest was on PC at all, I dont have a ps5 ahah

Im excited to see how the game looks from the playtest at least!

 

I do appreciate just how chill SEGA tend to be about these things, although tbh I have little frame of reference. But there would be absolutely no point whatsoever in trying to contain to coverage from a virtually public beta test of this game.

I only just realised upon re-reading the manual that you can choose between a the a new Crossworlds control scheme (X to accelerate) and the TSR/traditional control scheme (R2 to accelerate). Proper glad that they included the traditional style, because going back to using using X is not something I'm prepared to do.

 

This is the only time I've ever been sad about not owning a PS5

I mean I like the title theme anyway. It's like...I feel like it reminds me of ARMS or New Soup if those "BAH"s had a soul or something

 

I got in. Looking forward to trying it out later tonight. My brother is more interested in when someone rips the available OST to YouTube. Still excited regardless.
