Sonic Lost World (Wii U, 3DS, PC) Megathread

The First thing talked about today in the Nintendo Direct was Sonic Lost World: They showed us what we've seen, but they showed a few pics of the Deadly Six. I noticed One Thing: Cubot and Orbot are laying next to Eggman for 2 seconds. (I would screencap this, but I don't know how to do these things)


EDIT: It also appears that the Six take control of Eggman's robots, as they do seem to be firing at him...

 

The Direct also shows there is some form of connectivity between the 3DS and the Wii U version. You build RC vehicles in the 3DS version and then import it in the Wii U one. Then a second player controls them during gameplay to collect rings, attack badniks or something similar.

 

This is a process called Marioification. In this Lost World of Sonic, you must break open a box to gain invincibility for 10 seconds.

Chaos Emeralds!? Super Sonic!? What the hell is that!? There's no such thing. For I am Sonic, a blue hedgehog rolling around at the speed of plumber.

Super Saiyan in no longer in the picture, because if I am going to share the Wii U with Nintendo's mascot, I cannot dare to outshine him in such fashion, even if I have always done so elsewhere. I am not in Kansas anymore.

I was referring to Super Sonic [probably] no longer being in the picture and him only resorting to temporary invincibility from wisps like Mario does from a super star.

But I'm not serious about any of it anyway, I was just making a dumb joke out of this because this game doesn't strike me in any way as fun.

 

Where did that cutscene come from? an event? the JP website?

 

Geez, it's okay for Tails to be a supporting character, but does he have to be useless? In other games, he's kicking ass right along with Sonic, but recently he's just been downgraded. The entirety of his appearance in that scene was "hide behind something and get knocked over by a single shot".

 

He has a whole half-second of screen time in which he's not half-unconscious, and it's spent cowering. At least Sonic was shown doing something.

I know he's the designated tech guy, but he's also proven himself capable and durable; now it seems like they're forcing him into the role of a stereotypical techie, which includes making him weak. The Sonic Adventure duology's character development means absolutely nothing, apparently.

What really bothers me is how awesome that cutscene looks... until they show Tails getting shot and ruin it. The hell?

 

Main character powers, man. It's also how everyone dies in Resident Evil except the MC or significant partner character.

 

Honestly, I feel that the end in general was poorly animated, when tails flew backwards the animation felt stiff.


EDIT: Also, does anyone around here speak Japanese? I'd love to get a translation of that cutscene so I could stop making assumptions of what they are saying.

 

This is the most populated cutscene we've seen for something ingame. Comparing to Generations or Unleashed this has a lot more stuff going on. Rather than 3-5 characters on screen. This has movement going on and other things blasting through. Its really nice looking.

The first part's definitely accurate but to me the part starting from when Sonic talks sounded like:

Sonic: I don't know the situation, but we're leaving, fast! [first half I'm actually unsure of to be honest]
Tails: You saved me, Sonic...
Eggman: Orbot! Cubot! We're running away!

 

*sigh* wheres Puto when we need him...

Thats Tomoki's translation in that video, he did say it was a rough translation so it wasn't 100% accurate.
