Meh wasn't worth staying up. couple new clips of chemical plant, seaside hill, and rooftop run followed by a guy who sounds like he was yelling for a half hour singing vocal main themes. oh yeah and we got to hear some of the tracks early but not at the same quality were going to hear in the game.

Was cool that the JP VA eggman was the announcer.

 

That was borderline retarded and they never showed a single game prior to Sonic Adventure.

Sonic Team should climb a wall of dicks.

 

The TGS stream had new gameplay footage (which I missed) with the music played live, until SEGA puts up the recording you can watch it in crappy quality here (starts at 5 minutes):

It also includes a couple of songs with some hilariously bad vocals.

Holy crap. Who did they get for those vocals and why.

But I'm loving the modern Rooftop Run music. Those Violin riffs are fantastic.

Seaside Hill doesn't look as bad as what I was expecting it to be (a Green hill knock-off).

But something did come to my mind when I saw Rooftop Run and thought "Huh, Y'know, there isn't much Night footage being shown off. Only Chemical plant at the moment". Let's hope Speed Highway, Crisis City and Shadow's fight are more dark. Bright, daylight levels tend to give me the general 'Happy, easy, yay' feelings and not much challenge. It's probably one of the reasons I like Apoto's 3rd Act (The looping rails) quite a bit, due to it being a sunset-esque level.

Oh dear. I actually feel sorry for him, I mean, he must have been really embarrased (or he thinks he's good, a lot do).

 

I would have preferred it if they just shown off the new music to clips of the level. Not this shit fest that we got instead :/

I noticed that Seaside Hill is taking notes from Jungle Joyride. (Mostly from Act 4 and Act 5—Both DLC.)

 

Oh wow! Seaside Hill's looking pretty linear. I knew Sega wouldn't disappoint! It's looking pretty faithful to the original. But with more Ocean Palace infused into it. Funny. It started looking like an even blander version of Modern Green Hill Zone there in the beginning.

 

You mean that beginning part that's a direct adaptation of the original layout from Heroes?

 

Oh good, it's still funny today. I was afraid it was just the sleep deprivation.

 

I'm not sure what I'm more disturbed by, that guy singing or Jun's guitar.

That guy singing has managed to pollute my ears so much that the guitar is now sounding like a cat.

Who even is that guy?

 

If you paid attention, this is the only complaint I have about Generations as a whole (not counting leaving out the Wii). This isn't a nitpick, this shit sticks out like a sore thumb. It's a black and white issue, no gray area. It's just plain wrong.

 

This. I can't see what you're talking about. What high notes? What part of the music? Can you point it out further by giving a specific second in the video or something? I really can't hear it and I love the mix.

Edit; do you mean the added techno bit at the beginning and in some parts of the song which go higher in the background? That's part of the remix's charm.

This video. Holy shit, what th fuck is wrong? Who can honestly say they're good vocals? Whether it's for a game or not, or for the hardcore fans or not, that is excruciating, awful, and downright embarrasing. Right now I'm actually embarrased to be a Sonic fan, and a fan of that song. Jesus. If that's the singer from Cash Cash, it just makes me hate him even more- at least Sonic Colours tracks were auto tuned, in fact, thank god.
