  3. Oh, yes. Somehow I missed that being unveiled. My bad.

I obviously need to see how much money I can get for my prototype Sonic Heroes, Sonic Advance 1, 2, 3, and my proof-of-concept Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 ports! :v:

I'll assume it was yet another translator mishap for poor Iizuka, and the intended quote was "The first Sonic title we provided for the Nintendo DS platform was Sonic Rush".

Read what he said after that though.

That quote adds to his statement above that "Rush was the first Sonic game on a Nintendo platform", with the quote above and this there's no way it can be interpreted as anything other than "Advanced Series? SA:DX? SA2:B? Heroes? Shadow the Hedgehog? WHAT ARE THOSE."

He's just ashamed about the fact that the Advance series wasn't 'BOOST! FUCK YEAH! 3D AUTOMATIC SECTION! AWESOME! LOOK, NO HANDS! HOLD DOWN THE RIGHT ARROW!' enough. Especially Advance 1.

    Cut him a break.

    EDIT:

Yeeeeeeeah, it's sounding like working with the Time Eater in development is screwing with his memory a tad bit.

As for Generations 3DS, the changes still aren't quite enough to convince me to run out and buy a 3DS. And even if I do, this game at this point is still probably going to be a game I'll be holding for until it's in the bargain bin.

Maybe for years he was in denial of the fact that they were 'renting' Sonic out to a Nintendo console.........lol

I certainly hope he misspoke and meant Sonic Advance, because it's pretty sad if he can't remember all the games before Rush.

  10. So I was watching some City Escape action, and I'm suddenly humored by the fact that the government is trying to eradicate something/someone they don't understand while at the same time destroying offices and homes with people assumedly still inside.

Well he didn't work on any of the Advance games from what I know, so his only other excuse is it was the first game -he- worked with that was on a Nintendo specific console (Rush wasn't released on any other platform obviously). I'm going to assume he isn't counting games that were later ported.

I don't see why he isn't keeping track of other games though.

Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog were made for Gamecube first and then ported to Xbox and PS2. (I can't see any other reason for why the Gamecube versions are the best least shitty)

Yeah I wanted to check up on my facts earlier but Retros wiki was lagging. Thanks for the clear up.

  14. Here's the pictures of what I was on about

    Sonic Adventure

Red ring above in the middle.

I'm still not sure if it does mean anything but would be good if its connected some how to the rings in the levels.

They also used Sonic 4 objects for every single game in the video. MORE REHASHED LEVELS CONFIRMED!!!

3DS version will have online multiplayer: http://www.sonicstadium.org/2011/09/online-multiplayer-confirmed-for-sonic-generations-3ds/

It really doesn't mean anything. They're just objects used to make the scene look pretty. There are red rings in Generations, but they're random presence in this video is about as noteworthy as the gold rings.

  17. Also echoing the opinion here. Stop beating this video off like a dead horse. There really is not enough of absolutely anything to go by within this video. It was purely made to celebrate 20 years.

  18. Yeah Sparky I think you're looking to hard into this.

For the record, Sonic was rolling into and exploding cars at the start of the levels with assumedly people still inside while they were driving, so Sonic could possibly commit several counts of man slaughter?

As for the topic at hand, the only level that is iffy to me is Speed Highway. I know as per gameplay it differs from City Escape, but I hope it really stretches the "Highway" part of the title. For modern gameplay, I can see it taking alot of notes from Radical Highway, or even something from Shadow the Hedgehog (If there is anything worth taking). As for Classic Sonic, I can see it being like a Star Light Zone level. Even more it can take some nods from Route 99 from Advance 3. The excess of city'ness in the later eras can be a disappointment considering we missed out on some cool level tropes (Desert, Casino, Snow especially), so I really hope that this level makes it up to me.

As for the rest, the levels seem satisfying enough. Assuming rival Shadow is on the Ark, there is our space. Green Hill is our grass/tropical. Chemical Plant is our factory/industrial. Sky Sanctuary is our sky/ruins level. City Escape is our purly city level more or less. Sea Side Hill is our water/ruins. Crysis City can be our fire/lava level if played out correctly, and with the tornado it can be 20% cooler. Rooftop Run looks more festive, and with the addition of the blimp/flying fortress, it looking to shape up nicely. Planet Wisp is another iffy level, as it was construction with grass, and I don't exactly know what they can do, but if its played post final boss, it could be lively with wisps, maybe even grown over or something like the intro grassy area could be playable.

I guess all I can do is dream till the game comes out.
