Wait I just noticed.

What's with both Tails' mouths being in the center, but not Sonic or Knuckles?

In seriousness, I don't know. Tails' muzzle is different than Sonic and Knuckles and... every other character, too. However, Blaze has a center-mouth, and she's a cat. I think it has to do with the species, that or if they have a furry muzzle :P

 

Knuckles doesn't chuckle. He'd rather flex his muscles.

With classic Knuckles I think more than anything I want him to show a bit of his grin and apparent cocky attitude. I really don't like Knuckles played solely as "the angry, gullible one". Quick-tempered is fine, but sheesh, let the guy be happy once in awhile.

So, seeing that Metal Sonic is going to be fighting Sonic (presumably both classic and modern), this gives me an idea. Anyone but me thinking the battle with Shadow is going to be Sonic Adventure 2's Final Rush? If so, that'd be AWESOME.

Another thing though: Obviously Metal Sonic's fight is just like the one in Sonic CD where Sonic runs to the finish line before Metal Sonic does, but now with Metal having a whole new set of attacks you need to watch out for and evade (and maybe you can fight back this time!). Considering that the battle with Metal Sonic and the battle with Shadow were both racing levels, would this mean that Modern Sonic makes use of his boost this time to get to the end before Metal Sonic and attack him to delay him, like in SA2 with Shadow? (even though SA2's race was more like a fight on a collapsing platform.) Along with that though, Modern Sonic is obviously going to have some changes to his fight with Shadow to compensate with the Unleashed styled gameplay. Possibly, Modern Sonic would be making use of his move pool to get the edge on Shadow, probably using his boost and quick-step to take hits at Shadow more than his homing attack this time. But if the Shadow battle, or all boss fights for that matter, follow the Metal Sonic route, what of Classic Sonic? How would he end up fighting Shadow?

I'm not sure if Sega's going to be going pink Knuckles, even if they're trying to be as close to the original classic design as possible. They need to keep him 'cool' for the kiddies

 

Side mouth is cool, centre mouth is cute. Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge, Silver and Espio have a side mouth, and everyone else has a centre mouth. Blaze is the one slightly odd exception to the rule (along with characters with a different facial structure), but still her having a centre mouth isn't entirely unfitting.

More to the point about Generations though, I'm kind of annoyed that we're still not getting more news about the 3DS version. I'd really like to get an idea about what the game is like outside of GHZ, and if it's improving after the terrible E3 build complete with slowdown and uncurling.

 

Agreed, and I'd like to add in that I want Modern Knuckles to go back to his Adventure/Heroes personality - basically cool as a cucumber until the going got rough.

I so wish I could go to Comic Con. Unfortunately I'm on the East Coast and have as much chance of going to Comic Con as Justin Beiber has getting laid :B

Though a request to anyone going to Comic Con: Please be like one of those guys from E3/Boom/SoS and record the MODERN City Escape so we can have more than just half a minute of music. Please :<

 

Just thought I'd bring this up here:


As seen in the new 20th Anniversary Video. Does this mean that what was seen was a very early build, or a newer build? The demo was dated back to May 2011.

 

Unless they decide to upgrade Shadow and give him a boost, I imagine Shadow will just use more teleportation shenanigans to trip you up, whether in 2D or 3D. I'll tell you one thing, though: if it does happen, recreating the Final Rush race with Sonic vs. Shadow ought to be really interesting if not satisfying, now that the Hedgehog Engine and the boost can be factored in. Don't know whether or not Modern will get a Metal Sonic showdown, though.

This would be a good time to bring back that JPG of those boss title cards that was leaked a while ago for reference.

 

On the side/front mouth issue - it seems clear to me that the sidemouth is a mark of maturity, and that female anthros develop them at least a year later than males.

Except for Big the Cat and the Babylon Rouges I guess. And Vector.

Enough about that. I'm just hoping the 20th Anniversary trailer wasn't the trailer for Comic-Con, if there'll be one anyway.

I wouldn't look into it that much, man. The way I see it the sidemouth just reveals a more cocky attitude. It'd be weird seeing Sonic with his mouth in front.

EDIT: I'm REALLY hoping Death Egg isn't Sonic 2's boss. I don't not like that boss, but we already got a "remake" of that for Sonic 4 which sucked and was a bitch to beat sometimes. Great Eggman Robo needs more love, as does Death Egg Zone the STAGE.

EDIT 2: I just realized something... Perfect Chaos is a Super Sonic boss fight, so would this mean that you can only fight Perfect Chaos after you get all 7 Emeralds in the game? If so, this would be the first game where there are two bosses where you fight as Super Sonic... which should be interesting. This also makes me wonder how the final boss will play out. Maybe something SA2-esque, where each Sonic takes turns taking out the Time Eater, and Modern Super Sonic takes things in an Unleashed- like flight system (please don't make it too boring SEGA) and Classic has a Doomsday-esque fight (even though that's what Unleashed tried to do, but this time in 2D just like S&K).

Okay, so we know we'll be fighting Shadow, just not who will fight him. My money's on Modern during Final Rush, so I'm expecting exactly what Chimera and me described, give or take any artistic liberties Sonic Team wants to take with it.

And if it's anywhere near as awesome as the artistic liberties taken with a GUN truck, I will be very pleased.

By the way, I imagine it's possible Death Egg could be a zone. Just saying. No idea what the INFOMATION Pod is all about, or Genesis for that matter, and then there's that mysterious ??? slot.

 

I have a feeling the Perfect Chaos fight will be flandered down and you fight him as normal Sonics.

Maybe the story Deus Ex Machinas the Emeralds to you for Perfect Chaos. YEAH. Because remember? All the other characters brought Sonic the Emeralds before the fight.

Well the Time Eater ripped apart reality.. or the space time continuum, whatever it is, (thus we got Modern and Classic able to interact), so canon is already pretty fucked up in this game... :v:
