Yeah, I'm sure there's a way to do it. I just don't know how, exactly. This isn't the only PSN demo that expired, though. So maybe there's something out there that could help.

    Actually, you're wrong.

You don't need to be connected to XBL to play the demo. At all. We've been over this nearly 100 pages ago. The game says you need to be but you don't actually need to be. Only the PSN demo requires PSN access. XBL for some reason doesn't require internet access. The reason could lie in Microsoft policy where people cannot be restricted from playing demos. SEGA Encountered this problem with the Phantasy Star Universe demo, where Microsoft told them they could not moderate or ban people playing the demo.

Regardless, Xbox users can still access the Sonic Generations demo today by disconnecting from xbox live and changing the date.

As for the PSN demo, well, you'd probably have to hack the demo itself, I'm not sure. PS3 has a built in expiration function for various items too.

And you forgot Mecha Green Hill Zone in Sonic Chaos/Sonic & Tails, which is yet another remix of You Can Do Anything :-P

Actually I didn't, I debated adding it, but it's not an obvious remix

I had found 7 already (with an additional remix from a CD, not heard in any game) so I figured that was enough

In my excitement for this, I was looking up old remix vids and eventually came across this...

I lol'd, but just watching how smooth that running animation is made me the happiest.

Hahaha, oh, the joy of Megathreads. That was posted hundreds and hundreds of pages ago. Sad to say, but I'm probably one of the few people who's read every single post in this topic. I'd like to subscribe to it, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that since the boards have went back up.

  8. Yeah, disconnecting XBOX Live and resetting the time/date works. I'm about to tear up Green Hill again.

I must say, Chemical Plant Zone is one of the coolest levels I've seen from these modern developers so far (going by the images). I haven't salivated from looking at Sonic game images in a magazine since Sonic Adventure. Also, the Stardust Speedway remake. Boss only or not, thank god. Yes, it's Stardust Speedway. The exact lamps used in the images is in this video, and if Modern Sonic is doing the whole time travel thing, why would Metal Sonic be in Chemical Plant Zone? I'll assume this has been talked to death already.

I know he contradicts himself...all the time. Nevertheless, in a recent interview Iizuka hinted that both gameplay styles in Generations could be seen in different games in the future. That means that Classic Sonic gameplay might not be a one off, it might become the basic engine for future 2D titles(to be released alongside the regular 3D games). This would be smart for Sonic Team, IMO, since the Classic physics are pretty good in Generations and could be honed through more titles. It's smart business. If Sega releases classic titles of decent quality, than they will even get some leeway on the 3D titles. A lot of people would look more favorably on Sonic Adventure or Unleashed style games, as long as they aren't the only Sonic titles on the market.

Nintendo has made it work with NSMB and the 3D titles. This is the way to go for Sonic Team, from here on out. Sonic Generations could lead to Sega having , effectively, two workable engines to build games off of next generation.

    EDIT reason: Stupid typo

Well, if they built Sonic 4 Ep II from this engine, it'd be a pretty dang good start :P

Collectors edition. Basically the special packaging stuff that virtually every big game has now.

I love how frustrated Iizuka looks when the reporters are criticizing the 3D Sonic games and boosting.

  16. That about sums him up for me...

"You don't like what I like? Tough shit, I'm directing the games".

It's a little difficult to make out what everyone's saying in the SOS interview. If anyone's got a transcript handy, I'd appreciate it.

Thought it might be worth mentioning that GAME.co.uk have delisted the regular PS3 and 360 versions of Generations and replaced the with the Special Edition versions. Nothing too interesting about them, they're the same as the American pre-bonuses and doesn't look like there'll actually anything to physically differentiate the versions.
(PS3 version doesn't include the costume or theme)

    Castlevania prettyness
If I save up enough, I might just get the special edition for the 360. Though, I dunno really if it's worth it...

Also, any news on better scans/images of Chemical Plant? Would like to see how that stage looks when not grainy.

  20. I was just at Gamestop.com, pre-ordering Sonic Generations - With Bonus(es), for $49.99. Get it while it's hot, because the price may go up. I'm surprised it's not $60 to begin with.
