Like I said, I'm working on it, especially Tails. Though I do conclude that you're talking about the mouths which I could remove upon request.
Time for another wip shot. I made this today to test my UV mapping skills. Obviously the texture needs to be redone at a higher res to get rid of the nasty stretched pixels seen around the face and body, but the UV mapping part is going good. Face count on this model so far: 1264. I can reduce this further if need be because the final higher-res texture should make up for the lost detail.
Yeah, actually, chimpo's got a point. I reckon have floor/ground underneath all of that, which is part of the a ground level that the whole level is placed on.
Well the truth is this, I have yet to learn how to rig the eyes properly. In other words, they all spheres instead of surfaces/cylinders. I also gave Sonic the double eye treatment to make the viewer assume that he have two instead of one. I probably need all the help I could get on the models, so I need every constructive criticism you got.
Well, you've seen CarrierHack's abyss, so let me show you what I've been up to. In a vanilla copy of the engine, right now; Azukara has the modded version we're using. Still very WIP; in particular, the block lava stuff in the bottom of the chasm is solely to mark the level where the real lava will go and provide collision. Also, you'll note that the geometry is very low-poly; this is because I tend to do basic level structures first and then go back over and add details. This is about 1/5th of the way through this level.
Oh my Morgan Freeman that is glorious. :3 Youre leaving me drooling for more. And yes I noticed the lowpolyness of your stage, Afti. It's not that it's bad of course, but it lacks alot of specific textures and stuff. The level isn't that bad at all, and I understand whatcha mean by the details. Well work on it. And did you hear my snowviet idea? yeah, I think he's working on it the best he can right now, at least the last time I heard.
Yeah; don't know how it'll animate. I intend to do some proper textures (these are just some small PD ones I found) and give the surfaces a higher poly count.
Those eyes are bulging out...they're not supposed to. The actual pupils are oval, not round. Fix those two things up and we have a winner
Dr. Mecha, I was just able to see your models. They look okay for something like a cartoony different take on Sonic, but I'm sorry, I can't really see them working so well in this game. Don't get me wrong though, it looks fairly decent (besides those eyes which I'm glad your fixing on both characters, and the ears look oddly shaped).
I could assist with the normal mapping and texturing of the characters though. Edited: Now I know what you meant by Bulging Eyes, They seem too wide. I'll try to loosen them up a little.
the handrills spin around, and you have to destroy all of them then hit grounder and you win.It';s a bit easy so maybe its just for a hidden boss or a challenge boss.
It probably wouldn't be so easy though, since there would be multiple Handrills, and they'd be spinning so fast that you don't know when they'll be facing your way (meaning damage, since the drills will be pointing your way) or if they'll be facing the other way and you could destroy it. It actually seems a little too trial and error actually. Actually, when I thought about Scratch and Grounder controlling minibosses, I was thinking more like the S3K minibosses except with one of those two in the cockpit. EDIT: And what happened to this beautiful 3D model? Supposedly it was going to be used for the Blitzsonic engine before the team just stopped doing it: FOR THE LOVE OF GREAT TASTING GRAVY THAT MODEL IS SO BEAUUUTTIFFFUULLL. ;_;
