    Don't worry, you weren't the only one. I did that too the first time around :v:

    But I have a special stage idea (that was cooked up before by me and Afti):

    A special stage you play with Super Sonic. Now this doesn't seem to make any sense, does it? Well, of course it doesn't, since you obtain Super Sonic after you get the emeralds. But here's the thing: these special stages shrink you and put you inside the Chaos Emerald you are to obtain, which means you'll be so small that just with a small dosage of one Chaos Emerald's energy, you become Super Sonic. But how do you get the Chaos Emerald? Simple. Super Sonic maneuvers like your ordinary rails plane game (ex: Lylat Wars/Starfox 64), except you don't shoot. Instead, you have the Sonic Boost (remember from Sonic Unleashed?). The point of the special stages is to blast your way through the pipeline-like path and find the exit through a crease in the Chaos Emerald. But to each special stage there's a time limit, and the fact that you consume Rings both by boosting and by just being Super Sonic, you must constantly nab rings and move as fast as you can out of the maze. Once you exit, you are in the middle of an alternate dimension, floating (your super powers depleted since you moved away from the emerald), you are grown back to full size and the emerald is yours. If you don't win the special stage, you just go to the SS results screen and back to the game.

    Sounds more like a final hub tune to me, or a level. I think this is a bad choice, and here's why: It just lacks a certain impact I'd associate with final boss tunes; even if the intro is atmospheric, it usually goes up-tempo and increases in intensity. It's very important to feel like every last thing is on the line; it's triumph or death.

    Warlike Requiem from Thunder Force IV conveys this (shame about the short loop, the fight itself is not exactly over in the blink of an eye) as does His behaviour inspired us with distrust from Thunder Force III, even though it's not a final boss tune; it's got a driving progression that really makes the player feel like this is a deciding battle.

    Looking at Sonic Team's own output, they've been known do the opposite to the atmospheric intro thing, by starting intense, then either giving us the trademark funky groove of a Sonic tune (Fina Fever from Sonic CD evidencing this) or starting with discordant chaos before produing a very LARGE sound (D'Force Master, Wizeman's theme from NiGHTS Into Dreams doing just this, 32 seconds in -- since the bells preceding it are not actually part of the fight). Of course something like Sonic 3's final boss tune mixes two totally different kinds of intensity with amazing results.

    To me though, Ristar has the best one with Greedy Game (Theme of Kaiser) which starts large and ominous (again, a Sonic Team thing), but slowly increases the tempo and intensity in a crescendo of pure awesome. And with that percussion going on there, I thing Max-E could totally handle something like this.

    Has somebody textured this? In case nobody has textured it yet, I can do it.

    Heres a test render of Athbucket's model. I was thinking of editing his belly to be more round. Also is it me or does his shoes seem a bit small for his body? I was just thinking?


    If theres anything you want changed I could change it up.

    On a side note, What's the title screen music gonna be? I prefer this:

    Hint: Don't use Sonic 4 Title Screen music. Don't use a remix of Sonic 4 Title Screen music. Leave that for Sonic 4.

    The shoes seem to be just right, but please edit that body. I understand there's some sort of cross between classic and modern you all are going for, but that body is annoying me to no end. If it's abit pudgier, I think it'd look alot better. Just my opinion, but I had to say something cause it bothers the crap out of me to just look at it.

    I tried rounding it out and sticking it out. I figure it looks better and any changes that need changing will be done later. Although any suggestion are always helpful.

    I don't think we all want sonic to look like this though.

    (don't mind the falloff its just how I put it on there just how I like sonic to have instead of a full blue color.)

    Wow, I saw the video to the model and the OVA South Island remix blew me away. Even though it's not original, wouldn't it be awesome if that was in the game? :3

    Oh that, Yeah I like that remix myself too. I found it on youtube.

    OVA South Island

    I like the remix myself. I like the feel of it. If the game had the feel of how this does it be pretty sweet.
    And the model just has that white lighting so it won't be blending in with the black. So I put a falloff map on it.

    Azu's model? I didn't make one :v:

    If anything, the only thing that makes the model not look so good is the lighting, and like said before, that's easily fixed because that's only the rendering engine.

    I loved the model that was shown on the previous page, imo its the right height and reminds me of a perfect redub of how a 3d Sonic should be like.

    Well it's good everybody loves that one, since it's the final choice for Sonics model in this game.

    Well im glad about that. Im just really hoping that this will be finished but it seems like this team has the resolve to do so, so I think it will.

    Can I suggest removing the pupils from the model and actually doing them as textures? Otherwise they will look pasted on the eyes.
