uh, wrong. Geometry wars DOES have framerate problems... when there is over 200 enemies on the screen. Just like Sonic Unleashed DOES have framerate problems... when you play the game every single time.
I'm not saying it never drops frames, but it's not usually as noticeable because it happens when the entire screen is filled with a giant explosion, and doesn't affect the gameplay at all.
...again, not affecting gameplay doesn't mean it's not a technical problem. It is a problem, it's just one that doesn't affect gameplay. EDIT: And this is my last reply on the subject. IB someone comes and justifies it from a gameplay standpoint, ignoring the technical problem.
Didn't you download the patch? I don't get lag on Adabat anymore. The only spot in the entire game I get lag is if I take a specific route in eggmanland, and on that route I take a shortcut. Then it lags for a split second. That's the only place I can think of. Since the game isn't constantly having framerate dips, it doesn't have framerate problems.
I didn't notice any framerate dips in the Gamescom demo. And don't most games have some framerate dips these days? Especially unfinished games?
What? Where did this huge argument come from. Colours is still in development. Framerates will eventually be smoothed out for God's sake. Not sure if the framerate will be improved, but likelyhood is that it would be stable by the time the game releases.
You cant assume sega will smooth out framerates, did you see the frame rate in ANY of the hub areas or werehog stages in Unleashed?
A better comparison might be Pulseman's Volteccer, though that gets its range completely restored by bouncing. I don't think the laser gets restored at all by bouncing. I believe I saw a video of it going much farther if you just shot it straight ahead, not ending till after the speed boosters (though the game still behaved as though he hit them). I didn't notice any difference from the patch. The game still becomes a slide show at all the same times. And what was with the empire city hub? That place almost gives me motion sickness in it's night version, but I see no reason for it to do so.
New footage of Planet Wisp Zone: Can't spell ignorance... The music rules, and DAMN that stage looks fun.
*sigh* Looks like I'm going to be forced to say "goodbye" to the sun for a while. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. :v: I love that music. I want an mp3 of it for my music player.
Holy fuck. That music is awesome, there are loads of branching paths, and the level looks great. I need this. Now.
Did we actually falled to a lower path instead of a bottomless pit and we actually headed left instead of right?! I am seriously shocked! It actually sounded like this is the case.
Haha wow, the level design looked great and I'm likin' the music. This is supposed to be SEGA's cute little game that isn't for the fans? This looks better than Unleashed.
Inb4 "it's better than Sonic 4" statements. But seriously, it's way superior, and has an infinitude more of branching pathes as far as I could see in the video.
Really, it looks to be combining just about everything that made both the 2D and 3D games great. High-speed thrills, honest to god platforming, alternate paths, power-ups, great visuals and awesome music, looks pretty much how Sonic should've looked since the series went 3D.
I think I've replayed that video about 12 times now. I want more, dammit. EDIT: Had to ditch the italics and exclamation point. I'm just not ready for this whole enthusiasm thing.
