Is that site operated by Sega? If yes, then its great they at least REALISE the loopholes they've created. That last tidbit was probably the most interesting, I always had a suspicion that's what it was.

Interesting, this is the first time I've seen Sega respond to very common problems with Sonic we've pointed at. And, ironically, it doesn't look like they're hiding anything with it—they could very well come up with nonsense to say why some things are, but they seem to be telling the truth (assuming they ARE Sega...)

...The question is, could this possibly mean the new Sonic game(s) will be a bit more careful about this sort of thing?

Apparently, Sega of Europe is in charge of the site. So, no, not at all. Also:

Who cares about Shadow and Rouge? I want to know if Blaze and Big will ever get it on. They're both cats, right?

    Welp, this.
...not exactly. The site is run by ArchAngelUK, who, while being an employee of Sega, is also responsible for Sonic Wrecks. Seeing as he probably did the copy for this, I worry that some of this may be fanon.

Hmph. I figured it was too good to be true. Perhaps if another employee or somebody more official confirmed what the site said, I'd believe it as official... @_@

I don't think this makes it any less official, I just think it makes the "official" source for Sonic info a bit less credible.

Official or unofficial, it's more reliable then, say, Wikipedia.

The European and Japanese sites make me wonder why the US site even still exists. It sucks.

Actually I think some of this information is from wikipedia.... or sounds like it.

And I am liking the fact it has the ring and wings with ribbon thing. Nice site and it does give "new age" Sonic fans information about the past even if it may not all be offical.

The possibility that AAUK wrote the information on the site shouldn't make it any more or less "official." Either way, Sonic-City is an official source. All that should say to you is that there is no magical, intangible, infallible source of Sonic canon up in the sky.

Cheap shot. Most inaccuracies are quickly cleared up and a number of articles at least link to reliable sources.

    Unlike, say... this guy. :P

Example: "'Robotnik' is a Czech word meaning 'slave worker' and was the origin of the word 'robot'."

I couldn't find such in Wikitionary (take that as it may), but ironically they skimmed over the fact that it's a Polish word for a worker in general.

(And it was the title of a number of leftist newspapers:
for the Polish Socialist Party / Polska Partia Socjalistyczna from 1894 to 1939,
a bi-weekly and later weekly underground magazine from 1942 to 1945,
an underground newspaper magazine that ran from 1943 to 1944 while also being issued daily during the Warsaw Uprising,
    a short-lived newspaper in 1944,
a newspaper for the Polish Workers Party / Polska Partia Robotnicza from 1944 until 1948 when it was moved and renamed Trybuna Ludu,
another underground newspaper from 1977 to 1981,
and finally yet another underground newspaper from 1983 to 1990, which was published by the left-wing of the Solidarity Movement and then the reborn Polish Socialist Party.)

EDIT: I do believe he was looking at the origin of the word "robot" instead of robotnik unless I'm proven wrong. It comes from both the Czech "robota" meaning drudgery or servitude and the Slovak "robota" meaning labour.
