I posted this on SSRG... I'm just curious...

Okay, there's a lot of people who have played Sonic CD, and either prefer the JAP or US soundtrack over the other as a whole. But what about each individual track? Well, if this topic doesn't get closed, simply place your preference beside each level/feature. Here's mine:

    What are your individual preferences?

Yeah. US music is good as a standalone though - I just don't think it fits the style of the game.

Seconded. They are both awesome soundtracks; The JP one just has more of a Sonic feel to it.

I only half 4th it. Some tracks in the US version were good. While others in the JAP were better than their US versions/

JAP sux. US FTW. All of it. Apart from the title track, there is nothing on the JAP soundtrack that is anything but annoying.

Why, because I can give music a chance in a Sonic even when it wasn't composed by the core members of Sonic Team?

Why, because I just happen to really enjoy the other music?

Give me a fucking break. >_>

I guess I'll be the odd one out and say the exact opposite. The one set of JPN songs that I thought fit a level better were the Tidal Tempest ones. Although, Metallic Madness Bad Future is a close call, but I'll still go with US. Don't get me wrong, though. I still enjoy the JPN tracks, just to a bit of a lesser extent.

    being an asshole =P
Here is when I should say ninethed, right? BTW, as was originally posted, yeah, the Japanese music fits better the game rather than the US version. However, I think that none of them fit the game :P I still preffer musics made using the FM instruments, not waveforms... That's MY opinion, not yours...

  17. Because I don't wish to make this an incredibly long list, I'll make it quick:

Palmtree Panic: Japanese version with all the happy boppy music? Not really for me. I think the American version has the general feel of the first zone, but Japanese Bad Future is a good track on its own.
Collision Chaos: Japanese version tends to have the better tracks, but the American version has one good version (Bad Future)
Tidal Tempest: I'm somewhat mixed. I think both have their pros and cons, but I lean towards the American version more.
Quartz Quadrant: I love the American present music. Some may laud it, but I love it. The Japanese version's quite good as well.
Wacky Workbench: The Japanese version sounds good, fits the zone better, but the American version has decent tracks.
Stardust Speedway: I prefer the American version, yet the Japanese version's just as good.
    Metallic Madness: American over Japanese.
Boss musics: "Work that sucka to death!". Arguably the Japanese tracks are loads better than the American version.
Opening theme: The American version's bleh. Japanese version's better.
Ending theme: I prefer the American version for this one.
Misc tracks: I like how the Japanese version tries to blend in the opening/ending themes, but the American ones are alright.

All in all, I'm mixed and both of them have their pros and cons. So I'll say both. I find this quite silly, it's like comparing soundtracks of the Genesis and Saturn versions of Sonic 3D Blast.

I'm kinda mixed. I like the USA sountrack but I prefere the JAP and EUR soundtrack more. I'd say Japan and Europe had some of the better tracks with Palmtree Panic, Wacky Workbench and Collision Chaos. And I like the cosmic enternity ending music as well.

I personally enjoy mostly the US tracks tons more then the Jap ones.
Eh, probably the more metal/rock feel to the US ones. There are good Jap ones, just not a lot.
