I've said it before: It's entitlement. Sonic "fans" think they're entitled to have every single game designed how *they* want it, so if a game comes out that they don't like, they'll start bitching and whining constantly because they think that will make Sega change their ways. (Spoiler, it won't.) The same thing happens whenever a Sonic game is announced as a Nintendo exclusive. (Funny how it doesn't happen for Sonic games that are exclusive to other platforms...)
Yeah, let's leave the shit slinging out of here, folks. It's fine to not like what one sees, I get that. But let's not get into insults at each other, savvy?

I doubt Generations was everyone's preferred gamestyle, but it was well-regarded simply because it was fun to play with effort put into level design. Thats all most people ask for. The only reason people didn't want Lost World Wii U exclusive is because very few of us own one, and the game was not shaping up to the point that it would be worth purchasing one for. I don't know why you were feeling attack-y, but both of your points have fairly logical rationale behind them.
Am I the only one who's somewhat interested in the cartoon? /> I mean, I'm personally looking forward to it a lot more than the game. Truth be told, I don't really know how to feel about the game. I'm expecting it'll be a pretty decent 3D platformer, it just doesn't look very Sonic-like... at all, really. It looks competent, to be sure, the combat like it's a lot more fun than anything in Unleashed, and I'm interested to see how the platforming gets. It's just... as I said, not Sonic. I guess for the moment you can sign me up for Team Disinterested until I hear and see more. The cartoon, however, is basically the sequel to AoStH I've always wanted. The animation's surprisingly good for a CGI deal like this, and I honestly thought some of the jokes were pretty funny. Basically, right now the closest thing we can compare this to is that godawful Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, and if it's ANYTHING better than that, I don't think I have much to worry about. Just as long as Sonic doesn't declare he is a meme and seals an evil portal with his own bloody pus. Which happens. I'm serious.
Nah, you're not the only one. I think the TV show looks better and a couple of others I've talked to think so as well.
Someone else pointed it out but in the E3 Trailer for the 3DS version at 0:34, you can see Metal Sonic for a second or so. Not sure If this was already pointed out so if it was, apologies. Glad to see my favourite Sonic enemy is in this game though. And yeah I'm the same about the TV show, seems better than the games currently. I'll probably pick up the games awhile after they're released for cheap unless I hear they're actually really good or something.
Cartoon Supporter Group here. Based on what we've seen I think it will be a ton of fun and I can't wait for it.
It's even worst than I thought it would be. - Music, one of the most important key features in Sonic games was replaced by "generic ambient track" - Cutscenes don't even bother to blend the animations... fuck me, those jump cuts from walking to idle, what year is this? 2002? Not even Sonic 2006 had lazy cutscenes like this - Characters sounds fucking bored and apathetic all the time, which is a shame considering how alive they feel in the tv show - I know there was a change in VAs for Amy a few titles back but... did Amy sounded like she had nasal congestion in them also? Fuck me, blow your nose once in a while, will ya? - Visuals does seem to be a bit better, but they're still miles away from being good compared to some newer titles for the Wii U (which is a shame since Sonic never did really disappointed me in terms of graphics) - "Nice kill, Sonic"... twice in less than a minute. Why do I get this weird feeling that we'll hear the same lines a lot? I mean, I'm cool with making your characters talk with eachother ingame and I actually found that cool in Heroes until I started hearing "Wow, I'm falling" a dozen times per stage.
I'm becoming more and more interested in the cartoon everytime I hear the character personalities. Sonic seems to have an attitude, and Knuckles is aggressive and sassy (finally), and you can feel the dominance struggle between the two a lot. This is how things should've been. I've been against Hulk Knuckles, but his size does make his aggressive tone to Sonic more intimidating. I'll give the creators that, and only that.
The chalkboard at the E3 booth also shows that Knuckles thinks he's better than everyone else (the red writing):
VideoGamerUK E3 day two No footage. Just guys talking. One of the guys played it Says its a Bad Sonic game! which hails a torrent of "Surprise, a bad Sonic game, thats never happened before!" basically says its Crap God of War (to which one guy said: I would buy a game with that title) and a speed section where the pop in is awful, think he also says it chugs to a crawl. So positive news all around! I was getting ready for Sonic Generations meets Sonic Heroes with unique one character segments. But this is really Ratchet and Clank. I LOVE Ratchet and Clank. But there is something missing from this. Maybe it doesn't trailer well. Maybe it might be decent. Maybe. 3DS version made me scream "This is Sonic Lost World 3DS, fuck this game" at the screen. I'm lucky I live in the country and there is no one to hear me.
I'll take what they say with a grain of salt because I've never heard of them and there's no footage, but I'm starting to lose hope that at least the combat is deep enough to not be boring within 20 minutes. "Crap God of War" doesn't instill me with much hope, because the combat in that game got boring early on...
They were the guys who did the E3 conference abridged videos last year, even though the bloke (Matt Lees) left VideogamerUK they are doing a little bit of the comedy stuff. Expect more of it next week. Also as a note - I liked the combat of the Werehog sections in Unleashed. It was an acceptable GodofWar clone in my mind.
VideoGamer is kinda cynical and while they can make good videos (or at least Matt Lees can), I'm not sure if they're good when it comes to reviews/impressions.
What's there to be good at? You don't have to be a college major in game design or writing to be able to say if a game sucks or not. We all know it's more than likely going to be another average game anyways; current previews are making it seem that way from what I've read so far.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enrIqmYreMM Just noticed, they fixed the issue where if characters start talking, the music is toned down in the E3 build.
