The title is so generic this could belong to basically literally anything, whether it be the next mainline or a big nothingburger like sonic & friends was. Don't get your hopes up

It'd be cool if it was the next mainline single-player game. What type of single-player game could a Sonic game called "Sonic Blitz" be?

 

There were leaks/rumors of a soccer game for Apple Arcade, right? It’s probably that.

 

"Blitz" means lightning, right? Because Sonic's speed has been associated with electricity ever since the first movie.

Blitz, eh? Feeling the same as everyone else: I feel like it could be anything.

But also agree just a little bit on the sports associations, which I'm indifferent about in Sonic game context.

'Blitz' does kinda sound like a Smash Bros moniker. I'd also kill for a Sonic Shuffle 2 though, monkey's paw and all.

I guess Rumble is already monkey's paw Shuffle 2.

 

I don't want a new Sonic game to be announced until Rumble has been released and Racing CrossWorlds has actually been revealed beyond a worthless teaser.

 

To be honest, 'Sonic Heroes' sounds way more like a side title than 'Sonic Advance' - name conventions on that front aren't, like, crazy important.
This really does sounds like a Sonic-fied Strikers title - We haven't really had anything other than golf, tennis, racing, jetskiing, pinball, (skate?)boarding, and the general entirety of the Olympics, so I'm curious what other sportsy things could hypothetically be done. Maybe we'll finally get that Pro Skater concept 20 years late (though it having turned into Riders is way better imo)? Should I expect Super Sonic in a game of croquet? Biathlon, Wispon Airsoft? (Wispsoft??) ... Or, and maybe this is brainrot speakin', it's an ARC Systems fighter?

I just dont know if it could be another mobile game! There's already thirteen-billion of 'em at this point, and Rumble is coming out soonish... -- Who was it, Blue Blood? Do you recall if they said anything in those online SEGA presentations about their focus on mobile? Or whomever knows what I'm talking about

Either way, I find the usage of Blitz to be very particular. There's a bit of a furiosity to it that might nod to the content of the title. I just hope they take the opportunity to add IDW notables if it is gonna be live-service schlock again.

You joke, but folks yearning for stuff like this are prolly gonna love Fuga: Melodies of Steel. (As the closest conceptual thing that I know of)

 

I'd play a game were I can fly around as Tails and bomb people, that sounds cool.
