Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed

You would think a tank would make him tough to pass because of its size, but nope. That's a tiny-ass tank.

 

This free weekend sure attracted a bunch of people online which is cool.

I also set up a lobby with a friend and we managed to fill it with friends, the races were so damn intense. I'd totally play it regularly if this kinda thing happened more often as the game gets more popular.

But really, I love them for releasing a Soviet themed character on the Fourth of July, coincidence or not. Any one genuinely getting upset by this is either a Miku fan or hasn't been informed that the Cold War ended about 22 years ago.

 

So, apparently I had an interesting showing at yesterday's impromptu community day stream. I didn't see any of it, since it looked fine on my screen, but I'm watching the recording and holy crap. Zip zip

 

Gotta love that online collision (which I don't understand why it's so powerful online). I was playing with the community yesterday for a few rounds, when all of the sudden I was bumped in the back at the starting line of sky sanctuary playing as AGES, and I am just propelled forward so far that I was in 1st by like, 10 seconds. It was ridiculous.

 

I came in right at the end of the stream, and the same thing happened to me on Burning Rangers as GW...except in reverse. I was bumped BACK. It was obnoxious to say the least.

 

During the stream I fell through a Ramp in Outrun Bay which screwed me over a huge bunch.

Also, Starlight Carnival was probably the worst. All I ever saw was people being completely pushed here, there, and everywhere. I thought they fixed the collision though or was it a lot worse pre-patch?

 

The collision was pretty wacky in the one race I did get in last night. It's typically not that bad on the PC.

 

On the last community day, I was swearing up a storm on air because the goofiest collision problems made my car do things like stall and then jerk backwards at max speed or flip around in the water like crazy.

That's one thing where they need to work on for next time: getting a stable netcode. They apparently increased latency to kind of cope with it, but it's still just as crap on both Xbox Live and PSN.

 

Game's on sale again for $7.50 on Steam and it just got cards.

Time to play the trading game.

 

Why does anyone even want these cards? I don't understand their purpose for existing (I get that you can sell them, I'm more asking why would anyone want to buy them)

 

You can craft badges by collecting all of them, which in turn get you emoticons, wallpapers and coupons for you to use on Steam. Also people like to collect shit.

 

Honestly? No clue. Just something fun to do while playing a game. Valve just wanted to add something like hats to everything and made a penny economy out of cards. I'm surprised there isn't a hat card yet. During sales you can sell cards to basically get you a game. I sold most of my cards and got Sleeping Dogs and another cheap game.

...Also trading Tails for some other card.

 

New update, added some Roman guy named Willemus or something from Total War:Rome I believe.

Still no Miku though, haha

 

Haha, now all the Summer entries in the game files are replaced with Willemus stuff.

 

Feels like Transformed is becoming Sega's brand promotion game now. Makes sense, considering it's a Sega strokefest to begin with. Miku's presence is only a matter of time considering the upcoming localization of her latest game.
