Christmas NiGHTS was already on the PS2 version, which is a butchered version I might add. I don't think they will re-add the stuff they took out either. Though TRiPPY has said that a lot of the PS2 bugs are gone.
To be fair, not much has been revealed for the Sonic Adventure 2 re-release yet. It's too early to compare it to the Jet Set Radio and NiGHTS HD releases because SEGA has barely revealed anything new about the game yet aside from developer interviews, which each of these games will have.
Really hope there is a disc release just like the first Dreamcast Collection soon. would be cool to have this physically added to my collection.
I don't get why anyone would want a physical release these days. The only single pro is being able to sell it.
Because I'm old damnit, I like holding and feeling like I own the game thats how its allways been. Digital just feels like I'm playing a cheap copy that can be easily deleted or taken away from me, it doesn't feel like its mine no matter what a service agreement says.
No DRM. You will be able to own the games forever, something you can't say for certain about games you buy on Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network or Steam.
Pretty much, I just feel a bit more comfortable having a physical copy too. Hence why I didn't get NSMB2 via e-shop.
You're probably right, but I just hope that they looked into the completely glitched portions of the game. I hold this game in high regard, but it is a technical mess. If the original 1.0 release of Sonic 1 had a Chao garden, I bet it wouldn't have had a data-losing glitch in it. Obviously, this is a spruced up BATTLE, not the Dreamcast version, but it's a great example of how technically cluttered SA1 and SA2 are.
I had GameFAQs member "ProtoManEXE88" upload this for me. EDIT: This still exists. "Cube" and all. The cube, while generic, is made to look sorta like the logos Nintendo used for the GameCube at the time.
^ Well it not longer says SA2B, and I thought that poster existed in some form in the DC version. I will say this, even with the lack of changes, I'm at least happy that they put in the time to change the font and update all the hub and item monitor graphics to not look like total ass. They also put Big back in the game. They also made the game wide screen. Not enough? No probably not. But it's far more then what they did with SADX and it's at least the acceptable bare minimum.
Looks solid enough. Happy for widescreen of course. My only hope is the Battle DLC includes original stuff (doubt it)
RE: DRM and download only. Is it possible that Sega might be planning to release all of these games in a pack ala the Dreamcast Collection? That's what I assumed the whole "Sega heritage collection" business was about.
That last footage almost makes Sonic look cell-shaded in some places. Some updated lighting and the cutscene model for this release would have been neat. Beyond that, I'm the only thing I'm really looking forward is the plethora of mods that will inevitably be coming from this release.
Looks a lot like they redrew a lot of the icons. Like those speed shoes in that first clip. That's not the same icon is it...? It looks...different... They all do in fact... Edit: New loading screen too, I like :specialed:
