    I don't know why following a tutorial is supposed to be worth showing off, but I guess it's pretty cool to see that you got him in there. :)

    I know you said the music was a placeholder, but what's up with the Angel Island music that plays at the start? It's very... well, bad, and it sounds like it was imported from a MIDI instead of ported over from Sonic 3. The Sonic 3 Credits music that plays as Super Sonic is a much better import, but the same kind of case still applies. Any particular reason you didn't just port the music over and edit it to your liking?

    If I'm allowed to take a guess, maybe Nicogens, just like me, can't work with other kinds of SMPS. Why do you think I wrote xm2smps in the first place? Porting songs from Sonic 2 and 3&K is just too hard for me.

    You're starting to irritate me. Get your arrogance out of this message board, or I'll be doing it for you.

    That said, this is progressing pretty well! I still have an issue with the ground texture in Green Hill, but your layout isn't too shabby, the music is getting better. The notation on some of your music imports are fucked, though; I'm guessing this is the fault of the original MIDIs, though, so I don't fault you directly. You should try and find a more proper arrangement, though.

    As always, great work—keep it coming! :)
     
  9. I very much liked these videos. The first one, as mentioned before, did sound very what the fuck-ish, but the music from the second two were not only good sounding, but also very well chosen for the zones. And can I ask, is the song from Knuckles' Star Light custom, or from a game? I didn't recognise it.

    The level layouts look pretty good, apart from some sudden ramming into walls, and some areas that seem pretty glitchy.

    Overall, good, and can't wait for a demo of some sort.

    The new one could look interesting with some fixing up, but right now the poses look randomly strewn about, and some of the characters are colored incorrectly. Maybe you could construct a whole new logo that doesn't use the ring-with-wings motif?

    Wow! That Marble Zone art is absolutely outstanding! It's a brilliant blend of Hydrocity and Labyrinth.

    As for the logo, I actually think its good, except for Shadow's pose. I mean, I know he is supposed to be a lone wolf of sorts, but him looking away rather than towards the screen looks awkward.

    Are you sure it's the Sonic 3 Credits? To me it sounds much closer to Sonic Adventure 2 - Still Invincible. And feel I must be a little on the right track, given the Starlight zone was given a Sonic Adventure 2 - Vengeance is Mine (Radical highway) music port.

    Also, that way you use a different palette for each character, so they don't look so 8-bit. :argh:
