Sonic 1 Megamix

This is the win for best hack ever. It's the best hack I've played because of everything it has: Shadow & Mighty, pallettes, layouts, special abilities, music choices, EVERYTHING! You are awesome, Tweaker. :D

Possibly a bad pointer, since it tries to jump to $000002. It also only seems to crash if you jump in the water first, as the video showed. I can't seem to get it to crash in the build that you sent me on August 24, however, so I dunno if you'd already fixed it or not.

 

Found a little glitch: in Marble Zone, Act 2, near the first firefall, in the secret room with the ring box, the sheild box, the caterpillar badnik, and the two bats, I played as Shadow, and when the bat badnik flew in the wall above me, I homed for it and clung to the wall like a magnet.

I thought it was pretty neat.

Cool your using his Leap and punch in the air Sprite for something Im looking forward to the next release of this, im enjoying playing and writing about people's hacks. I hope my input is useful.

Hey, Tweaker, would you consider posting the MP3s? Or at least just the DFZ3 music? Because that's one Hell of a remix.

I should go through sometime, when I have some time, and record the music playing on my Genesis 1.

 

I thought about sound dumping a Sound Track for this game. However, it'd be pointless, since, ya know, dial-up and all. =P

 

I can easily dump the soundtrack from Gens, but what would be the point? Can't people just download the rom instead?

 

Well, some people may want shiz on their MP3 players or something, or Ipods or whatever you people have...:P

 

Fair enough. I would be glad to help you in this conversion process, but I don't have enough time to rip the tracks themselves. If someone, maybe Menodix, can rip all of them to .gym files and send them to me, I'll convert them to mp3s and upload them to rapidshare. A rar'd pack of gyms won't be more than a megabyte, so I think a dial-up won't be a big issue.

But yeah, does this mean we'll soon be able to port Sonic CD music into Sega Genesis games? Also, what coding is it? (little endian, etc?)
