Sonic 1 Hack, Codename "S2 Pre-drx"

Wait... What?

 

From what I understand, he is tring to make a hack that looks like an earlier version of S2. I don't think he should bother with S2NA, since it is not as easy to work with.

 

I don't like your idea, there is no Sonic 2 zones, this appears to be just a plain hack with S2A spindash with graphics, REV01 BG effects & a wall-recoil that was done before.
Though I must say that when spindashing at a crumbling floor, you will be stuck there floating there spindashing.

 

This is a rather poor idea for a hack, to be honest. Where's the novelty? It really lacks authenticity.

Why would you go the process in making an almost unplayable hack in the first place? Not much to be called a hack , I guess

 

Your hack is a start, just you should wait a bit longer so you have more to show, I mean you must have some grasp of basic concepts if you were able to port the wall recoil. So keep hacking away!

This hack doesn't appear to be something that's showing off just all you can hack. It's a novelty hack.. instead of criticizing the fact that he's not making something new and shiny, maybe we should look at the fact that he's making it to recreate something.

It IS a poor concept if he's trying to make a completely new game.. but he's only trying to make an even earlier prototype recreation. Nothing wrong with novelty =) Just look at Within a Deep Hedgehog.. that was fun and addictive as all hell but almost NOTHING was changed in the entire game!! =)
