I'm not speaking for him, but, I think he what means by "You fail" is that, in his opinion, you're such an idiot, you can't tell what he means when he says "You fail".

He was simply fooled by a hoax that's so old most people wouldn't know the background of it, he presented his ideas reasonably well, yet got proved wrong.

 

My "you fail" comment wasn't about this "discovery", but it was about his youtube videos.

Anyways, Back on topic, After downloading and playing it, I can say that with what everyone else said that it's obviously a hack. :P I mean, There's the dark sky in green hill zone, But no alternative Spring yard zone backround.. *shrugs*.

 

Right...because all of you negative repliers knew all about Sonic the Hedgehog right upon being conceived.

 

Makes me wonder how many of the people going "omg you fool this should have been an obvious hack and you should have noticed it and researched from the start" have actually bothered to go and look for the info regarding it. I have better things to do than that, but I imagine it may not be so obvious as they're making out.
