Sonic 1 and 2 getting the Sonic CD treatment by Taxman and Stealth

I dunno if I'm late to this but I love the new Knuckles routes added to Marble and Spring Yard. If there's more, I'm still looking!

 

Just out of curiosity, in the bad ending does Eggman still juggle all six Chaos Emeralds, regardless of how many you collected?

 

Nope. I only missed one, and he was juggling the one Emerald at the end.

This port is flat out amazing, and has everything I could ever want in Sonic 1. Thanks Tax and Stealth, you have done Retro proud!!

 

He'll even juggle seven, if you do so choose.

 

That's really cool! As a kid it bothered me that they'd made such an obvious "mistake" - naturally I was pleased when they did it right in Sonic 3. I guess Taxman and Stealth really did think of every small detail!

 

I wonder if they would be able to tell us if the "UFO" graphics for Marble Zone are the original graphics or just made for this port?

 

He didn't juggle the remaining Emeralds only, in the original? :O

 

A single frame of the UFOs was found in the tileset for an old mobile port. Do we know where they originated from?


EDIT: A little research says one of the developers was a member of this forum and confirmed the assets came direct from SEGA.

Playing through Sonic 1 as Knuckles has been incredibly fun. I can't wait for Sonic 2, I seriously cannot wait. I hope it's a given we'll be seeing the supped up version of Debug along with other unknown easter eggs... I don't know if this makes me a blind fanboy, but the Sonic 2 port is my most anticipated game of the year.

No, in all the Sonic 1's he will juggle whatever emeralds you didn't collect, no matter what console or revision.

Isn't the first patch free though? I remember reading that somewhere.
