Related to my previous post, but not really related to this thread. As I've created a thread about this previously, but it's since been locked due to age and lack of information, I am having to post it here. Mod, please feel free to move if needed. Thanks. Glitching Sonic Level Creator; Created this for the community. Hope it's not already been found. Enjoy!
More evidence to prove that it's built on the Sonic 1 Mobile port, I wonder if it has any other levels from the port such as Marble Zone.
There's not, as far as I can tell. The game has glitched before and shown only garbled GHZ stuff. This is the first time I've been able to get a full on GHZ. I think they've taken GHZ from the mobile port and used that as a basis. Possibly, it's the demo version of the mobile port (I'm sure there was one as my friend had one that came with his phone 5 or so years ago way back at school) which only contains GHZ. As well as only ever seeing GHZ, the Sonic Level Creator only uses GHZ badniks, springs, scenery (grass verges, loops, tunnels etc., bridges and rocks, which makes me believe that they just changed some sprites to accomodate the new graphics. When going through GHZ in the video, you can see all the rocks and cliff edges have been replaced, and all the badniks present are the same ones as in the Level Creator itself. Some interesting things to note is that there was a yellow spring obviously 'placed' by the team in GHZ, yet the yellow spring does't exist in the Level Creator. It even works like a less powerful red spring. Also, jumping OVER the sign post at the end will not finish the level (like the Level Creator), yet you will actually get those little emblems appearing with the audio cues and the points added to your score. Awesome, huh? Lastly, physic changes are so much more obvious doing a run through of GHZ. I totally own that level in the real game. Edit; about the GHZ-only tiles, I was wrong. This has already been discussed. I'm YEARS too late; http://forums.sonicretro.org/index.php?sho...17419&st=90
I'm in the process of outnerding you this very second. I just got contacted by a gentleman who is willing to sell me a REAL SegaSonic Arcade PCB along with the trackball panel for several hundreds of dollars. Which I will spend. I'm building a super gun right now. What does that mean? I'm gonna own a legit, real version of SegaSonic Arcade which I can play on my TV screen. Does that out-nerd you?
