Music Remastered

I really love this one also.. However im not too sure how that start, its too soft. Its a great crisp melody they have made.. and would be an awesome start ot play S2HD with that on the first zone.

Gives the real: "that's right, this is sonic, in HD: Welcome to emerald hill" :P

 

It wouldn't be too difficult to cut the file so that it loops. The chorus pops up several times over which is pretty much how a loop works.
Would probably need to cut the intro. And or code it so that once the intro has played when the mp3 gets to a certain point it will refer back to a previous point.

I'm sure it isn't only my opinion but I think the the offbeat guitar is really overpowering the song.

The second half when it picks up totally pumps me up. It should be the theme of the entire Sonic 2 HD project. Give it a listen to pump you up.

 

Hey, I remember this! docfuture used it in his Sonic 2 Special Edition LP for the Sega CD 32x! :D

That said, I laughed heartily at the Microsoft Synthesizer drums.

LAWL That rocks, Tweaker

I think the hard rock version is cool, but I've always felt this song is very whistful. You feel how upset and worried Tails is when he thinks Sonic is dead, and then when the music picks up, the elation. This could only be done as an orchestra piece, or a pop song.

 

Lolz. I'd have to say orchestral. Anyways, I think the main theme of Sonic 2 should stay the same because after all, we are keeping things as original as possible aren't we? (with the exception of the extra features being thrown into the game) It probably could be extended to create a much more lenghty musical piece. Just throwing an idea out there.

 

Hah, I love that rocky Ending theme.
Personally, I think that the first half of the theme should remain exactly as the original, even the voices, then just as sonic lands on the plane, it's pumped up to a full orchestra. What do you guys think?

 

Altering that idea abit.....

I think we should have one violine, one contrabass and very basic orchestra drums played and then when sonic lands we pump out a full orchestra. How's that?

I REALLY like this version for Casino Night actually, I agree with the 2nd guitar being out of place, if this could be tweaked a little bit it would be perfect for the stage IMO.

edit: I also liked "Haempling - Sonic2 - Mystic Cave Zone", suits the original vibe perfectly.

 

It sounds nothing like the original, so it should be tweaked until it sounds completely different...

In terms of the Ending Music, I can't believe this hasn't been brought up in jest yet.

Bah, what a terrible, unfinished game it was. I will admit I did derive some enjoyment out of the game, basically when I got the Sky Gem and basically went flying around as Sonic.

 

That Emerald Hill Zone from Dwelling of Duels is pretty limp and gross. There's a reason it scored 21st place that month.

So is CarboHydroM's Casino Night Zone. That is not a song that benefits from guitar. Seriously, no. No no no no.
