Are you sure that song was PAL only? I seem to remember it playing during some of the later levels in my copy of Jet Grind Radio. I would check, but my Dreamcast is broken
...yes it was. Again, the only song not in the Japanese version is Yappie Feet... ...in turn, it's the only version with Dunny Boy Williamson Show instead. That is, not accounting for the Chapter 2 songs introuced in the Western version.
The second japanese version "De La Jet Set Radio" had everything the American/European version had, plus the original Japanese Voices. Exactly ... Plus original voices, english voices sound strange when playing on goddamn Japan
If it's that version, it will be another day-one buy from me just like Sonic CD. Not that I'm gonna pass on this game in any case, but I'm just hoping for another definitive version.
The end of the new trailer includes logos for Xbox 360 / XBLA, PS3 / PSN, and PC Digital Download. PC support confirmed!
Here's hoping that JSR being remade is indicative of Sega letting Smilebit wet their feet a little before jumping in and developing a full-blown sequel to JSRF. + - Fuck you they'll always be Smilebit to me
Hopefully they let SOMEONE make a full blown sequel at some point. I remember when they rejected a proposed sequel by Headstrong Games.
I'm sure Smilebit (fine, Sega Sports Japan!) is sick and tired of making Mario & Sonic games, though. Are they even involved in this port, or don't we know that yet?
Even if they're sick of it, those games make a ton of money and the Jet Set Radio franchise doesn't. :/
Knowing SEGA's track record for all we know the entire soundtrack will have been replaced. I will be so sad when the inevitability of Guitar Vader tracks not showing up happens. (By the way that entire... tape, and yes tape, not CD was friggin awesome..) One way or another I'd gladly support a re release of this. It was so much better than JSRF and it's ezmode tagging. Timing in this one was key and it helped it. Also the visual style was better.
At least the fact it'll have a PC release means it can be relatively easy to replace the new soundtrack with the original one... assuming they even change the soundtrack for starters, that is (and hoping they don't go with some weird format for this game)
Yes, though it does seem likely that they would also make this whatever becomes the XBL version because that is also how SEGA rolls recently.
