This. Seriously sometimes they're just relaying information, which is all well and good, but they don't post a source. I don't want to look like a jack ass here.
Whenever you see something on there, I recommend looking at sites like the official SEGA Blog (where official announcements usually happen first), Segabits or the Sonic Stadium forum (say what you will about the members there, they're usually pretty fast with Sonic news). Also, the Steam Winter Sale starts later today, so expect Jet Set Radio to be priced off on that as well as two SEGA bundles (one with various SEGA games, one with every Sonic game available on Steam).
Steam Saled at $2.50. Digging through the topic, there seem to have been some issues with framerate on PC. Has any of that been patched? Also, please move this topic to the Sega section. This was a huge pain in the ass to find.
I apologize for originally posting this thread in General Gaming. Though in my defense, the General Sega Discussion board used to be titled Sega Retro so it was less clear to me back then that it was a board meant for all SEGA related news excluding Sonic. I suppose I should probably edit the main post of this topic with more recent news of this game now that I'm no longer banned. Edit- Oh wow. Last time I updated this thread was almost a year ago.
I don't recall downloading any patches, but yeah, if you do a lot of Hibernation instead of full shutdowns, then the framerate slowly goes from a rock-solid 30 to an insanely sluggish 10 or so, with the game running in slow-motion as a result.
There was a patch released for the Playstation Vita to allow cross-platform saving and gives you the option to retry an event after completing it. Mobile versions allowed you to restart levels after finishing them, guess they're just now putting them into the other versions.
Bit the bullet and found ten quarters lying around to pay for the 75% off Steam deal. No more guilty conscious with having a CD-R for my Dreamcast. Deal ends at 1PM EST (approximately 90 mins left from this post), so get it while you can. Time's up. Been playing for about 20 minutes. So far no slowdowns. What kinda irks me is that as the screen fades to black after I make a selection from the start menu, the game briefly hits 60 fps. Missed opportunity, but the game plays like I'd expect in an HD port otherwise.
Jet Set Radio has a patch on PS3 and Vita. - Improved performance (Both versions) - Fixed game freezes after long play sessions (Vita) - Drawing distance has been doubled (Vita) - Shorter loading times (Both versions) - Fixed several little visual and performance issues (Both versions) - Now it's possible to repeat a level just after clearing it (Both versions) - Improved image import, solving errors and adding more compatible image formats. - Saves can now be shared between PS3 and Vita, including progress and scores. I played both versions last night and have to say that the improvements are highly noticeable and I'm very pleased. Cross Save is an awesome thing that I've really wanted for ages on JSR, so I'm glad that they've implemented it.
If you mean if there are less framerate drops, that's what they mean with fixing performance issues. If you mean if they made the framerate higher than 30fps, they can't do that. The way the game is built it'd be like watching a video at twice it's normal speed.
