Okay, I believe I may have done something to cause it to be having issues, I think it might be the fact I've moved the entire folder around for better organization of my computer but im not sure.
My main problem is the AVI format is KGV1 And my windows media doesn't support it so I cant watch it, and I cant convert it because the converter doesn't recognize it.
I'm kind of a newbie with the recording stuff, and I'd appreciate help if possible.
Or someone can tell me a more simple way to do things I have yet to come across, thank you.

Open the Video Codec folder, and right click on KegaGameVideo.inf and click install. It can only be converted by converters that use the windows codec system (e.g. no ffmpeg). Might I suggest virtualdub with x264vfw. Also, welcome to Retro. =P

Yeah, x264vfw is the best h.264 encoder for Windows IMO. Once you get it, configure it to use Single Pass - Lossless. It is amazing quality and doesn't turn out too big either. It's great for youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy1IQC3-zwM (An example of the quality)

OK, I failed hard. I somehow converted my 2 minute video of me playing the S factor, into a AVI video file that was 9.6 gigs.

I have a long way to go..to understanding this all.

Edit: Okay I just configured it to lossless after finding the program. Might try the convert again.
Edit2: I think I just need to learn how to use virtualdub correctly right now, it is quite late and im going to go to bed here, please is anyone can be of any assistance leave some words of advice on using virtualdub correctly.
I just wish to convert my gameplay into format acceptable for youtube.

Just run your video through windows movie maker, it'll make your file small enough for youtube to deal with.

None at the moment I'm afraid.
I use Arcsoft video impressions because it came with my computer. However, lately I've been using Rad Video tools so I can get HD Youtube videos.

See what I mean. Of course I have to convert things back to AVI but I convert it to Divex codec.

May I ask what you use/do to get your recordings to that point..?
Im trying to find the best way which where it looks nice and isnt too difficult to deal with, im going to ask the other person who was trying to help me more on it to see if im just failing at using virtualdub or not.

Just use Gens Movie which can output to AVI natively. And stay away from Windows Movie Maker, it's the worst piece of crap you don't want to touch.

It would always crash for me on XP. But then, I tend to end up with VirtualDub hacks crashing on me even more frequently.
