    You're all wrong, it's transparent aluminium. =P

  3. The fun thing is, this was kept in Mega Collection's manual. No, not the scanned one that's on the game disc, I mean the actual physical GameCube manual that came with the game. It was something like: "There are some traps in the environment that are impossible to see, and some traps that are impossible to escape from. If Sonic is blinking, don't let him move too fast."

  4. If sonic 06 was glitch free it would have been a partial sonic come back (Then again the gay last story is kinda....)

Well, collision between objects in Sonic 2 and 3 is often rather iffy. As a result, it's relatively easy to get stuck in the floor or in a wall because the game is "forgiving" in that regard -- compare this to Sonic CD where almost any moving object can squish Sonic, even when there's plenty of room for him or the object is moving backward (which I think is more annoying most of the time).

Depending on the solidity of the wall/ceiling/floor, Sonic won't trigger an ejection routine but instead just stay stuck there. A great place to test this is in Launch Base. The teacup-style elevators can easily push Sonic into a wall without killing him.

Since changing the solidity of the wall tiles would seem to fix this issue by triggering ejection (or is there something here that I've missed?), I almost can't help that this was a really cheap way to make the last Sonic 3 stage that much more annoying and difficult.

Oh, that. As far as I know, in all Sonic 1, 2 and 3 they got around those areas by adding a block that is explicitly solid (in particular, they would squash Sonic). This is because the game checks Sonic's own movement, but not movement that is caused due to external factors.
