I have a feeling that was Mecha Mazgoth. Here are some points:

If this guy was truely new, how would he know him.

I'm not too sure on this one but, didn't Mecha dislike Xinux/Quick Man?

And to the fact that Mecha is banned for good, he probably though, 'the hell with this, I'm gonna act like a turd and tell everyone what I really think.'

That basically summed up what we did with that "Asshole"

Correct. More often than not, if both posted in the same topic, a flame war would break out between the two of them. At least that's what I remember.

Well, you could find out who he was by checking his IP address. If it matches another IP in the database, banned or not, there's our culprit. But then again, it doesn't matter too much now. He's been banned and dealt with. Just another turd to add to the grand tapestry of bannination, I suppose.

Wasn't Mecha IP Banned? If so, then that Mighty dude cannot be him, due to the IP Banning.
It doesn't really matter. If he wants to show himself, he can, but you're probably right, he didn't know he was banned.

But seriously, it turned into that because the idiot decided to take a perfectly good topic and turn it into a damn flame war. Thank you for banning him, Simon.

    *coughproxycough*

But most people who are dumb enough to get themselves banned wouldn't think of using one...

  11. Some people might bounce back and forth between two different IPs (like me - one at school and one at home). Or he might be using a proxy. (Yeah, right).

Or, now that I think of it, AOL. AOL gives you a different IP every time you connect. I know this for a fact, because I found myself banned from a couple EZBoards before I even signed up for them.

  13. Well, that SUCKS! I am SO glad that I don't have AOL anymore. (I got rid of it YEARS ago).

AOL should address that little problem with banning attempts.

It's not that big of a deal, really. Just sign off, and then reconnect, and you'll get a new IP. But a dynamic IP is still stupid, at least for dial-up, because it's supposedly more of an effort to hack a dial-up user than a broadband user. I imagine they were only doing it for "security."

I think a different problem they should work on is compatibility with Xbox Live. All I can say is AOL better be compatible with it by the time Conker: Live & Uncut and Halo 2 come out...OR ELSE.

Anywho, dropping the Mighty thing, back to Quick Man's original point. The Sonic scene is, as much as I(we) hate to admit it, dying. The good roms have been sucked dry, the other roms no one will touch, most of the good sites are gone (the original SSRG, A51, Shacnet), and over 75% of the hacking scene is filled with noobs that couldn't tell right from left.

[To Quick Man] If you would like another rom to work on, I propose the NES (or GBA) Mario series. I have been trying to make a Mario 3 hack but the available tools are crap. I have noticed that if the Mario hacking scene had tools similar to those on the Sonic hacking scene that the Mario scene might possibly compete with the Sonic hacking scene in size. (The Sonic scene is currently dominating over the Mario scene.) Just a thought. [End Note]

I'd be very interested in hacking the Megaman series on the NES; plenty of fresh material there.

I agree. That one would be good too.

I think that would be good, I am surprised there is no hacking community for Mega Man. This is the only hacking guide I found for mega man games.

don't think they are as accessable as the sonic games, the SNES is programed weirdly, much like the Saturn was but not as bad so it would be harder to crack the games.

The NES is awkward to program for since it uses bankswitching for any cartridge over 16KB or 32KB (not sure), and there are a ton of bankswitching schemes. Thus, data may be repeated throughout the ROM for different levels. (This is similar to Sonic CD - Sonic CD doesn't use bankswitching, since it's on a CD, but all the graphics are stored in every level file, due to the Sega CD's hardware limitations.)
