So I have a Game Gear with a mod to allow output to composite video. I got it at a Saturn developers conference, they were handing them out since the GG was discontinued by then. It's not the full layout board, but a modified Japanese GG. I can't find any mention of one of these online, so I figured I'd at least take a couple of pictures.
they used to have pictures of this back up on the old, old assembler games, when it was a personal site with pictures instead of a forum. But I haven't seen pics of this kind of game gear in years and years online. I seem to also remember seeing a pic of these once in gamepro many many years ago. Cool stuff!
