OK. So, this post may be a bit unbelievable, as it sounds like a Creepypasta story, but I hope it's alright that I'll tell you all. You see, back when I used a Toshiba laptop, around 2014, I was reconstructing the prototype intro of SatAm using the footage as well as newly discovered animation cels. I decided to check eBay to see if they had anything related to the prototype intro, or really, anything related to SatAm, and I saw some interesting stuff, like an image of Sonic covered in cake, and some pencil sketches of walk cycles. And when I saw them, it got me thinking, what other concepts are even out there? I then decided to put my work on the reconstruction on hiatus, and move on to SatAm Concept art. I did some simple Google searches, and when into images. Something, then caught my eye. An art piece that I never seen before. I decided to download the image of it, and go to where this picture came from. It was a forum on The Sonic Stadium about SatAm concepts. I kept finding some more new items and concepts of Sonic, Sally, Rotor, Robotnik, Bunnie, and etc. Then, I saw it. Something that made my eyes widen and smile like an idiot. It was new concept art of the early SatAm, that was seen in Sonic The Comic in 1993. My jaw dropped, and I immediately started downloading the images. I was really excited. I was planning on showing the world on what the characters looked like behind closed doors. However, I was busy with life and stuff, so unfortunately, I had to put them aside. I eventually had forgotten about them, and moved on to other things. Then, the day had come. My entire computer just stopped working. It couldn't read the hard drive, and I know there was no viruses on it. Did I over powered it? Did it had a virus I wasn't aware of? I had so many questions. I went online to ask some laptop pros on whether the hard drive died. One person had confirmed it died, but then I found out something about Toshiba Satellite laptops. They sucked. They had bad processors and some even said they only had it FOR A DAY. I was immediately pissed off, and upset that nearly all of my hard work, and all of my rare items, had just disappeared, into the void of deletion. I had them saved on my laptop for 2 years, and they were still fresh in my mind, and still are, kinda. Luckily, some of them DO still exist online. I will now describe what they looked/look like. There were two storyboards. One of Sonic getting the ring, surrounded by various villagers on top of a grassy cliff (this one exists). The other one, I unfortunately forgot what it looked like. But I know it was a Storyboard. My guess is it had Princess Sally, and Rotor. Some concepts were early designs of Rotor and Bunnie. Bunnie had some hair, wore a jacket, (Not like in the modern Archie comics, hair appeared to be black, and jacket appeared to be a leather jacket) and had lipstick (Stilll exists, I think). This next one is Rotor. He had no legs, just a fish tail, and wore a fish necklace. He still wore a belt and a hat (still exists). There was also a lineart version of the "A Hero's Reward" image. Another piece is of the early Sally reading a book to Tux the Penguin, while sitting on a log in front of a castle. The ground is grassy. This next one is interesting, and it is an early concept of Antoine. He isn't an animal, but rather a human. He has Elvis Presley-looking hair, and was a mechanic. He wore a jumpsuit, and had a belt, and is winking. This next one is cool. It was two concepts of Tails. He is wearing a Cowboy hat, and is more true to his Japanese artwork/ In-game look. One has him wearing his hat, and another has him not wearing it (he is also running in this one). According to the show's bible, Tails was to wear a Cowboy hat, and have a southern accent even though "he was only 4". This next one is a bit of a mystery. It's of Sonic. He has the same design as in the STC preview images (Along with Sally), but he is wearing different shoes. This is pretty strange, since Sonic's shoes were normal in the preview images, and the final show (still exists). Unfortunately, they came from eBay listings for them, and since some of them ended, and eBay has a policy for removing the image 30 days after purchase (which is kinda weird), the ones I didn't mark with "still exists" may be lost forever, unless someone has these concepts saved in a computer that is NOT Toshiba. If anyone has any info on these concepts, and even has images of them, please notify the community, as I feel these are very important. Thank you for reading, and have a nice day. -MJM
Your laptop still had an HD in it, right? There are USB cords out there that connect to HDs so you can view the contents on another computer. I have a laptop that died that I've been meaning to do the same with since I salvaged the HD, haven't gotten to it yet, but I know such a product exists.
@Overlord Oh really? Man, you learn something new every day. @Shoemanbundy The Hard Drive is still in it, I never threw it out, mainly because it has a bunch of photos of my family, some of which are gone from their original hardware they were taken on. @Adamis Holy crap, some of the art is there. Thank goodness! The Tails ones were the ones I thought were missing, some of the Antoine concepts I had forgotten about, and some concepts I had never seen. Thank you so much!!
