Yes, well, this isn't any good theory or anything like that, it's just something I wanted to point out, and if anyone's discussed this before, please whack me one, and trash the topic. XP

Anyway, sometimes I tend to be a bit nitpicky about what I see in Sonic Games. The one today? Sonic Advance 2. The subject? The Boss Attack levels. What's wrong with them? Well, absolutly nothing. I love the scrolling style, and I hope they keep that. It's just, Sonic Team got a tad lazy on thier part with the Battles..

See, when you hit the first Boss Attack, with the Egg Hammer Tank II, you'll notice after you defeat it, and it reaches off screen, a white flash shows up slowly, before slowly fading away a second later. Now then, if you look at the other Attacks, the Egg Bomber Tank and up, you'll notice that the white flashes occur nearly instantly, and the fades away a little quicker. Also..

You should notice that as soon as Eggman ejects the Egg Saucer, the Egg-Go-Round, and the Egg Frog (possibly also the Aero Egg, not sure), the explosions stop appearing, yet the sound continues up until the white flash.

I should also point out that the background scrolls only for Leaf Forest and Egg Utopia during the Attacks. Animation with the Backgrounds is only seen in Hot Crater, Techno Base, and Egg Utopia when in Boss Attack. Whereas the rest (Music Plant, Ice Paradise, Sky Canyon) do NOT scroll, and do NOT animate while fighting the boss.

On a final note, The way the explosions and flashes are for the XX Zone are the same. The background scrolls, yet does not animate.

So, why was it like this? My answer: Sonic Team got lazy/had a deadline to finish the game by.

I hope you all enjoyed my little rant here. XP

Sega are real hardasses when it comes to deadlines. I'd rather wait ages for a flawless game than 6 to 8 months with more glitches init that S2b!

Then you should look at the Sonic Advance 2 preview video in Sonic Mega Collection.

The Leaf Forest boss's background doesn't scroll. The Music Plant background during the normal acts don't scroll either (You just see stars and the upper edge of the instruments, like how the background appears during the boss in the final version). And the coolest thing: Ice Paradise scrolls with the wrong table data, so it cuts the buildings in half.

The backgrounds are very cool in the game, and I like the way they've fucked it up. It makes the game more interesting.

Speaking of that preview video, you must have also noticed how the Hammer's attack range was a lot shorter.

And when he destroys, the screen turns white almost immediate

That would be only because it was flashing back to the Beta Title Screen. XP

I have a few more points I forgot to mention, that I want to express later.

Alright. I've got nit-picky again, and I've found a few more small details I forgot to mention.

On the EgghammertankII, you'll notice that the flashing you see once you hit it is bluish-white. Yet, when you hit the other Bosses, they flash pinkish/reddish/purpleish-white. On the Egg Frog, Eggman also changes color like the Frog.

In Bosses 1-4, Eggman is facing either right or left. In Bosses 5-7, Eggman is facing toward the front.

Oh, and Hot Crater's Boss Attack background does scroll a little. A mistake on my part.

In all bosses except the Egg Frog, Eggman ejects facing left. Eggman ejects to the right in the last one.

In the Egg Saucer and the Egg Frog boss attacks, the ground stays flat, unlike the others that continuously go uphill and downhill.

That's all I can think of right now. orry for the double post. XP

Also... the bosses are too easy to beat with cream. You can just throw the chao by pressing "B". That's it.

I forgot two things to mention.

    1) Eggman doesn't use his 'O_O' expression when he's hit in the Egg-Go-Round, but if you manage to make a character go straight through his craft after getting hit, he will laugh.

    2) It is VERY possible to beat every boss under 20 seconds. If you master Sonic's skills, especially the mid-air dash, it can be done.

Just ask me. I've done it.

Heh, I had to check it out. So I stand still in act 2, and compared the bg with the boss, and you're right!

EDIT: Also you may have noticed that if you run with Sonic from the very beginning of Leaf Forest's boss, and just run, when you come to the middle of the screen you will get shot like those places you Hot Crater when you run very fast. I know most of you have seen this already
