According to this site, Sega is starting their own 3D Classics line on 3DS with Space Harrier. No release date so far, only info is that Space Harrier will support 16:9 and 3d effects.
If they do Power Drift, After Burner, and maybe some games that never got console ports as well, might be time to consider a 3DS.
This has made my day. I LOVE space harrier, and always wanted to play it in 3D ( never got the chance to play Space Harrier 3D on Master system ). Thanks you SEGA, thanks you so fucking much. You're welcome to my fantasy zone. BTW, does anyone know who composed the space harrier theme? I love it ( main reason I love the game) and I don't know who composed that masterpiece. Shitty fan I am.

So much want. I will be getting this, hopefully there's an update for the Acekard so I can still use it. My 3DS hasn't been updated in a while, so I can't get on the eShop.
By the looks of it, it may seem that the sprites will no longer be flat anymore, but be used as textures for actual 3D models. Interesting...
