That looks awesome. It makes me want to see more of those ghosts. Even if they were from some old promotional short for a game that SEGA doesn't want to go back to any time soon.

Look at that, every physical Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comic is now represented on Sonic Retro. Yes I did spend two weeks cropping scans from ebay - I've uploaded about 400-500 files in total. It consists of all the physical variants I could find, although there are many more Newsstand editions that aren't up there (you'll have to wait until ebay's replenished its stocks or someone uploads things for that to change).

Somebody else will need to fill in the details (release dates would be a good start). If people truly did grow up with this comic and the circulation is as high as claimed, I would hope that isn't too difficult ;)

So Guru Larry posted a picture making a comment about the way the child is holding the Master System controller. What's a bit more interesting is the prototype MS Sonic 1 picture featured.

Just realised it's featured on the wiki, albeit in a slightly lesser quality.

Even better - it's from a different source, which means this (and presumably the other similar one up there) was a press screenshot supplied by Sega.

With a bit of hunting, it should be possible to track down a really good version.

Well, I replied to Guru Larry's post. Here's hoping he gets back to me. If not, I have him on Facebook like a few others. We spoke a few times over the years. We both go back to the days of the Gamesmaster TV forums so hopefully I might get a cleaner pic.

    Double post because meh.

Larry got back to me. It turns out the source of the image of the kid holding the controller wrong posted earlier sources from an Argos catalogue from Spring 1993. Catalogue page is 438 (slide number 137). Alas. The image quality is even worse but still worth a laugh looking through.

    you're not wrong :)

I don't high hopes for high quality scans of old Argos catalogues - they were designed to be disposable. But images released by Sega to the press have a habit of turning up in more than one place.

Question: Why don't we have the English Sonic Mania Plus digital manual in the wiki?

I don't have it, and even if I did, the wiki hates me. It never let me edit it, let alone upload files.

The Sonic account just uploaded this Station Square remix done by Tee Lopes and Jun Senoue. It's interesting, it has an almost like tropical theme to it.

They sure have been teasing a lot of Sonic Adventure stuff as of late.

Slice of life visual novel, coming soon...?
This is kind of a random remix to do all of a sudden. Either they know we love Tee Lopes and are being nice to us, or they have something more in store.

Well there's been a bit of a resurgence of Sonic Adventure era stuff. TSR had Sand Hill in it, Chao keep popping up, Big and Froggy stuff, Forces' plot in general trying to recapture that SA2 tone in some ways.

Ah, gotcha. I thought you meant SA1 specifically.

    This is an amazing find!

This isn't really that groundbreaking, but I noticed something about a prototype screenshot of Sonic 3:
That little sprite above the TIME happens to be an unused icon in the final, which (according to the disassembly) is part of an unused positioning system intended for competition mode. It would be interesting to know if this system still exists in the final game, or how it would have worked.

    EDIT: Also in this screenshot.
