But you can also apply this to Nintendo, Microsoft and Toei too, both of which haven't taken action against Team Fourstar, Jon Gram/JonJCG, or Mark Haynes/Alvin Earthworm's Patreons even though you clearly know what they are using their funding for. Pateron is grey in legality, otherwise stated your funding people not projects. but if you're going to take that stance you got to apply it to everyone. is something else bugging you about this TimmiT?
Nintendo, Microsoft and Toei aren't Sega. And legal problems aside, him saying that you aren't paying him to work for Sonic: Wrath of Nazo while using the fan film to try to get people to support his Patreon is just scummy.
How is it scummy? He likes to make Sonic stuff and is honest about. Do you honestly believe that him putting that trailer in the Patreon page is to trick anyone but Sega's legal team? If anything it's the most straightforward way possible in this scenario to make clear for the audience what the money are for. Sure it's borderline-illegal nobody is arguing that. But scummy? If only towards a SEGA the soulless corporation. And one can't be scummy towards something like that.
How about you actually read the Patreon page, cause this sure isn't honest: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=811981&ty=h&u=81198 Sure is strange how it is only a side project the Patreon totally isn't for when almost all of the info on the page is about it.
I don't see how my post is not applicable. Sega has legal team and backs need to be covered :v: Maybe he is not law-savy (he probably is not) so he's still afraid. Anyway I like what I see before my eyes. It's a thing I'd be happy if it was made. I'm not gonna pay a dime for that and certainly won't keep an eye on it (seriously 2019?). So yeah
So that section on his Patreon page is basically this then for execs? Just saying: you probably don't want to spend money on something that can easily be C&D'd.
Well, Ruby found it. Whether or not Sega at large will take action is hard to say. Also good god the comments are making me feel old.
Like I said, lax SEGA is lax. this should prove it, unless Ruby got in trouble for that comment later on by his bosses.
Turns out that's not the official Sonic channel. Official channel changed its logo to the 25th anniversary logo, no longer Sonic Boom. I really hate that multiple channels can have the same name.
Ah right, small details, and yeah it is pretty screwed up that someone can imposter you like that on twitter.
It's fairly common on there when you have a lot of fans. Mostly it's from people who want attention and are masquerading as the person (at least as a name.) That's why the verified icon was added. A quick hover over the name usually gives it away if they're fake or not. Vetting is good. :specialed: Spoiler Ruby is aware of this movie.
I'm sure he is. but it was still dumb on my part because I totally forgot that they switched to anniversary mode a few weeks back. that Boom display is still in some pics of old tweets.
Can someone explain where this Nazo nonsense came from? I assumed it was just some popular fan character, but it's actually from Sonic X?
It came from Sonic X preview footage, the name Nazo means "Mystery" in Japanese (so I've heard, anyway). It's 2:40 in this video. They claim it's actually an alternate design for Super Sonic, but I personally don't buy it because of 2:25, where Super Sonic actually appears.
Aside from what S0LV0 said you do remember that we found out a little bit ago that this "Nazo" character was just a different Super Sonic design... I don't like this whole patreon aspect either Tim, but you need to put your focus on that as the source of your annoyance, instead of starting to shit on the actual project itself.
