First 4 Figures is looking for ideas for the 25th anniversary statue

I doubt SEGA would so lax with fuelling that kind of rumour, especially so early.

Anyway, I have an idea for this. The 20th Anniversary statue was Modern Sonic with a Classic Sonic monitor. For this, I'd do Classic Sonic running past a Modern Sonic goal post. Classic would have a wheel-o-feet effect going on, with somewhat similar to the way they did Tails' tails.

Well, it's a Dreamcast. The Adventure games play themselves half the time, so I'm sure he'll be just fine.

Awesome figure regardless.

Not sure if this was done or not but, perhaps a figure with the animal capsule from Sonic 2, with Sonic standing on top of it or near to the side of it.

 

Along those lines, I wouldn't mind seeing a figure of Sonic running past a signpost (One side could be Classic Sonic and one could be Modern, might be kinda cool)

 

Classic Sonic playing a Dreamcast? I am the fuck in. I've loved the look of the First4Figures statues, but just couldn't justify the price. This time though, my wallet is ready.

 

Surely the Dreamcast would look better if it was just on top of the monitor... That table there is so unneeded.


Also, is Sonic supposed to take the console out each time he wants to change games? =P

A or B. I', just not sure if the red is a bit too much. C can go jump off a cliff though. Turning the checkers brown makes them completely overpower the rest of the colour balance in the base. But for some reason, C is the most popular choice right now.

Also the current plan is for the regular model to come with the Megadrive and an S1 screen, while the Exclusive will come with a switch-out Dreamcast and SA1 TV.

 

Either B or C. Not sure what to choose. I like the red base more than the gray. Not sure about the checkerboard stuff.

 

B, definitely. I was liking C originally, but the red base is very nice and the black n' white gives it a "past" sepia tone. I really like it.

 

C. The red's a nice touch, and the TV and game system don't blend into the Green Hill background.

 

Not really a fan of any of them, too gimmicky for my taste. I'd prefer something like a pose of sonic jumping with a thumbs up like at the end of a game, and maybe some detailed flickies at his side, to amp up the quality. Then just have a gold seal or something on the side or the bottom, but not too showy. The options they have provided make a good point of it being an anniversary piece, but it's not going to look very good on the shelf. It looks like some lame art you'd see at the bottom of an Archie Sonic subscription order form. I'll be skipping this one for sure, which is fine as I have paid First4Figures over $2,500 already. Still anniversary or not, I wants me moar pretty figurines!

Another idea... Sonic standing on the master emerald as seen in Hidden Palace Zone, made out of the same translucent materials as the emeralds the Eggman figure held. Then make it an exclusive version that has a glowing light from below. Would also be awesome to have those robot tentacles from the Egg-o-matic coming out from behind. Those could also flash like electricity in an exclusive statue. THAT WOULD BE EPIC! I should brainstorm with weed more often!

 

It's not my favourite piece, honestly. It's too busy and non-specific. The whole "playing his own games" thing is definitely better suited to a 2D picture than a real figure. But they turned to the fans to decide on this one, and this sort of thing often happens when fans get involved. The base is still really nice as a concept, and will probably look even better when it's actually painted and sculpted properly with metallic finishes and whatnot.

Ideally they'd have gone with the same idea for the base (perhaps smaller) and then had him in either the classic finger-wag pose or something else iconic from the classic days. I still like what we're getting, just not as much as I like any of the other pieces.

We'll see how it physically materialises yet though.

 

I prefer B. Black checkerboard platform and red base I think looks aesthetically better than the other two.
