First thing that popped into my head when I saw that cutscene was "I want one of those!". I mean, even if the world split apart people would still be lining up just for a taste!.. ..that was a bad joke. Has anybody even attempted making one of these before? I saw no pictures during my quick Google searches, and the closest thing I've found to a recipe was just a list of ingredients on the Sonic Wiki. (Link: http://sonic.wikia.com/wiki/Sundae_Supreme#Ingredients) I don't know, it just seems like a stupidly fun thing to do. A delicious one at best! I'm probably going to regret making this post later though...
It looks like it'd be difficult to make in a cone without it completely falling apart! But I have to admit, I'm tempted to give it a try now. It's been ages since I've had an ice cream sundae.
Looks like they're using a wide cone in the game, the likes of which I've never seen "on the real". I bet it would crumble and leak and get ice cream everywhere just like every other cone out there.
You can definitely get those wide cones on the real. I had one not six months ago over in Ireland. :v:
You know, I'm rather shocked that I never thought about this before, that Ice Cream look's absolutely fantastic! Why do I get the feeling you have a grudge story about cones? ...I wanna hear it :v:
The story is basically my entire life eating ice cream in cones. I'm hard pressed to think of a situation in which it hasn't resulted in a mess of some sort. Maybe I'm doing it wrong because I'm missing some chromosomes or something.
What you're supposed to do is: 1. Not grip the cone so tightly that it crumbles within your hand, but instead allow it to rest there. 2. Lick or take a small mouthful of the part of the ice cream that is closest to the edge of the cone, to prevent it from falling off (due to melting or other reasons). 3. Repeat 2 until ice cream is no longer immediately at risk of lateral expansion causing it to exceed the cone's capacity. 4. Consume the rest of the accessible ice cream (using your mouth, not your face) from the top to the bottom, to minimise the effect of gravity. 5. Depending on preference, either: a) discard the cone, b) bite the bottom of the cone off, suck the remaining ice cream through the cone, and then discard or eat the cone, or c) eat the cone and ice cream simultaneously, again from the top to the bottom, maintaining the structural integrity of the cone until it has been completely consumed. 0 ice cream related messes in five years, and I've probably had at least 250 in that time. I usually go for option C unless they're particularly cheap (and nasty) cones.
I've trained my top front teeth not to get cold, so I bite ice cream instead of licking it; as a result I get to the inside of cones much faster. I've never had any cone mishaps, and I eat cake cones, the most delicate of cones. ... + - This thread is gonna get locked or be pushed somewhere else, I can tell...
Don't give the mods ideas. I'd argue DD's post makes this thread sticky-worthy. We should hold a contest of some sort to see who can reproduce most accurately the sundae this topic was about in the first place.
This would be a good contender for the Gourmet Gaming blog. Someone should submit it to the person that runs that thing.
I think about the only times I had issues with cones was when I was really really young, 3-4. Come to think of it, I haven't had an ice cream cone in damn near a decade THIS!
What I'd do for my teeth to be like that, eating Ice Cream is just such a pain for me. I sure do hope not, then I'd feel guilty for being the OP.
