Oh wow. I was excited for the show...but this trailer has increased my hype even more. I've always liked Roger Craig Smith as Sonic's voice actor (excluding a few moments in SLW where I felt as though he was a bit off), but there's something about him here that's really good.
Huh. Yeah, I actually really like the looks of the show, to be honest. Still indifferent about the games, but... Fingers crossed, I guess.
New Boom footage. http://www.gamespot.com/videos/e3-2014-sonic-boom-rise-of-lyric-stage-demo/2300-6419480/ Unfortunately this video hasn't been uploaded to Youtube yet. Seeing as TimmiT didn't link this, figured I might as well he'll probably frontpage it anyway. Game honestly looks a lot better; idk if it's me just hoping this game isn't entirely shit but the lighting looks improved / has much better contrast now. EDIT: And since you guys seem to be enjoying how Shattered Crystal looks, why not have a closer look at that? Here ya go! http://www.gamespot.com/videos/e3-2014-sonic-boom-shattered-crystals/2300-6419483/ http://youtu.be/sXgXF2t1Psc?t=1m51s This timestamp confirms that. idk if the embedded timestamp works, but check 1:51 for yourself if you must. So yeah, that sucks. However, in the Gamespot video at 4:58, you can see Amy starts to collect some rings and then passes the 100 mark, those extra rings being counted. With this I think we can infer that either SEGA rushed Big Red Button to give something to beta testers for SOME REASON, or in the short time between GameXplain and Polygon's first looks, they fixed a few of the criticisms pre-E3 and had something better to show. I honestly think the former, that the reviewers were given a stable, yet older build that had some embarrassing flaws to it. So that's two things checked off that are improved, lights and ring counter... Let's see how many other things they fix. Like that DAMN VOLUME CROSSFADE WHEN THE IN-GAME DIALOGUE HAPPENS. That is HONESTLY the most annoying and jarring part of the dialogue; I'd be able to stand it so much more if the in game music was a consistent volume throughout. Here it just breaks the flow and pisses you off.
Sweet lord what in God's name is this monster? SEGA. Get back to the basics. 3D platforming. Lots of speed. Good story. The formula isn't that difficult. Sonic Adventure did this. Sa2 was...hit and miss. Sonic 06 even did this (albeit terribly). Are we ever going to have a 3D platformer without this...whatever this is? Fuck swords, fuck genies, fuck this weird motion sickness inducing vomit. I want some good old fashioned classic platforming!
Then don't buy this game? This isn't what this game is in the first place. I don't understand why you'd be preaching that you just want icecream at Ralph's Italian Ices.
Am I the only one here who isn't indifferent about the games but honestly liked what I saw? :v: Both games look fun, especially the 3DS version. Since I don't currently have a Wii U I'll most likely be getting the 3DS version unless I get a Wii U in the future. As for the show it looks promising as well, still can't get over Knuckles' design though it's still horrendous to me.
If nothing else, the animation looks better than Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures in my opinion. I'm not sure how it compares to Rabbids Invasion (I mean as far as fluidity of the animation; in content, Sonic Boom is already better; Rabbids Invasion seems more like something you'd shove inbetween two shows to fill up time, ... but it's nowhere near as good as the Mickey Mouse shorts), but then I haven't watched more than one segment of the latter. My prediction is that it should get at least two seasons, since "PMatGA" and, somehow, "RI" have both been given the go ahead for a second season.
Don't how about you guys, but I really like what I'm seeing. Animation is going to be very good (for a TV show at very least) and jokes seem to be funny ether. Looking forward to it
Direct feed footage from GameSpots stream. Visuals look to be a bit better in the cutscene. Music sucks. Amy's idle animation is weird. Lip-syncing out of cutscenes is also weird. Knuckles is dumb, more at 11.
Not sure why anyone's holding out hope for the cartoon. Best case scenario is its going to be schlock for kids. Preteens if you're lucky. Well no shit that's why he's complaining. Doesn't help that the game looks like a real turd at the moment.
Maybe, just maybe people actually like what they see in the trailer? Just a possibility that I'm putting out there!
I sense a futile argument. Crisis averted. Anyway, at this point, my only concern is for the combat mechanics. I can overlook pretty much anything if there's a good game underneath, but if the combat is boiled down to "mash the attack button and occasionally press other ones", I'll just watch an LP of it.
Was the Eggpod/Egg-o-matic still there? I want the one they displayed at the announcement show so badly.
