  3. Hey guys, I've finally gotten around to uploading a new update video for my Green Hill Zone mod, which is still largely a work in progress.

Lemme know what you think! Feedback is always appreciated. I really couldn't have gotten to this point without the help of this forum, so thanks!

On top of the lovely looking mod above (great job with that progression plan, mate - no way I'd be able to keep to that without getting distracted), I thought you guys may be interested in a stage I'm working on.

As stated in the description, nothing is final, specifically the crusher and horizontal spike blocks which are temporary and will be replaced by ObjectPhysics whence I have the required knowledge.

Music (currently in production) by this guy.

Wow, both of those look awesome. To be honest, I'm a little surprised we haven't seen more stuff like that, and I'm a lot surprised there still doesn't seem to be a hack that goes the other direction. In other words: Porting Sonic Generations' classic stages BACK into the Genesis games. I don't personally know a ton about Sonic hacking, but it seems like it'd be relatively simple compared to a lot of what we see, at least for Green Hill and Chemical Plant. Either way, it's great to see more Generations hacks coming down the pike.

I continue to wonder whether it's alright to be posting the music I produce for mods, despite not directly working on any mods myself. To that effect, Pyramid Cave (White Space).

I was using a live violin recording during the production of this one, but I swapped out for a Kontakt library at the last minute; discovering how much more flexible the library was than I initially thought in the process. Like I said earlier, this is for a specific mod project, but I've been told to keep all hush-hush about it for now. Regardless, I hope you like the hub-rendition, and the mod once it's announced.

Wait a minute, did iGamr post a spoiler

I think this looks worse than Generations 3DS, but as it's an alpha it's more than okay.

    Congratulations anyway.

    PRO!

How easy is it to do this for a beginner?

As someone who knows relatively nothing about game engines, level design, coding and all that jazz, this was fairly tricky to pick up. However, once you get to know the process it goes really smoothly.

It's genuinely intriguing and exciting to learn something new with every bit of progression, it's just frustrating being unable to fix issues without asking for help.

This looks really cool. Have you looked at using the Green Hill Zone breakable cliffs instead of GeneralFloors for the falling platforms?

I have indeed, as well as the falling blocks in Sky Sanctuary. At some point I'll trial all three and decide which functions better.

Out of curiosity, has anyone figured out how to give this game a windowed-full screened mode like SA2 PC or ASRT PC? It's really annoying switching back and forth constantly only to have the game halt to a full stop.

I wish that he would implement global illumination.

That requires work and testing time which he has said he doesn't want to deal with. If its not 'easy' then its not worth it.

Its not that hard to do though.

  20. Would it be considered rude or in bad taste to take the mod he's made, apply the global illumination yourself, and post a video with it or something? (Probably with asking permission first or something) My laptop can't run Generations, so I'm stuck waiting until I get my new computer, but I'd like to see how the '06 levels would look with the GIA applied. However, I don't know how well it would go over to mod somebody else's mod.
