So how many of those 87 people said they were getting the PC version actually got it? I'm still looking for community members to race with.

  2. I got it, and whenever friends invite me I usually race with them, usually a lot of fun too.

Add me on steam if you need someone to race with! http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198021214844/

Would be nice if we could start using the retro group to maybe organise some Sanic racin' though.

I haven't played this game much, so I've been trying to get back into it on my Wii U. I was having fun...until I got to Traffic Attack in Shibuya Downtown. I swear, the "cop" cars either slowly curve and makes it easy to dodge, or somehow match your speed and block you. Really tough to fake them sometimes. I'm getting better though. It's that last curve with all those cars that screws me over every time...

I'm mainly using Tails on that part, by the way.

I also bought the Steam version and I played online one time and was only with three players... It's very difficulty to find a public race with a lot of players...

That's my permanent SteamURL if people are interested. My actual name is Conando, though. I had to have Conando and his creepy stare as my profile picture.

I got the steam version up and running! I'm trying to get all the characters and stuff before I go online for the most part though, but my steam URL is http://steamcommunity.com/id/pjman586/ so go ahead and add me if you wish.

I am playing the 3DS version and is really very bad... lots of bugs and low framerate... but it's playable at least...

it's just me or Amy's voice is different? (she sounds very annoying in my opinion)

I know I'm super late to the party, but I've been thinking about picking this game up. Is the Wii U version the worst version? I remember really early on there was talk about the Wii U version having frame rate issues and what not.

Is that still the case? Or was that just the demo?

Wii U version is comparable to the PS3 and 360 versions. Best version is the PC version, with the Vita following behind them all and the 3DS in a distant last.

The Wii U version has a bit less detail and the framerate has some issues in certain levels like Rogues Landing, but its the only version of the game where you can play with up to 5 people on a console.

I've not noticed any issues like low details or poor framerate on the U version. Heck, I think it was the PS3 version that had various visual glitches (notably the discoball in Galactic Parade). The console versions have all been patched up and sans the most minor of differences they're as identical as possible, so pretty much the only reason you'd be better off with the PS3 or 360 versions is that the U online is dead and has been since day one. The U version does have some exclusive local multipayer modes and even though I've not tried them, I hear you're not missing much. And having played the other battle modes it seems likely (read: they're utter shite). The PC tops all though for the usual reasons, and the added bonus characters. I can't believe the 3DS version is so bad though. It was originally slated to be released at the same time as the console versions but ended up 4 months late. Delayed 1/3 of a year and still horrendous. I dread to think what it would have been like if it wasn't delayed. Not to mention it's a crying shame considering just how brilliant the console versions are.

  12. Is the Wii U versions multiplayer really that dead? You'd think with the shortage of games it'd be more active. That's a real shame, anyway. Ever since the game got patched on PC I haven't been able to get it to boot up and can't work out how to fix it so I just ordered a copy on the Wii U today.

Wii U runs on 720p. Excluding the PC version, of course, the best looking version is the PS3 version it had better textures at many places.

WiiU version runs sub HD and sub native res on the gamepad but it uses the highest res textures of all the versions. 360 version is also sub HD but has the most stable framerate of all the versions. PS3 version is the only one to run at full 720p I believe.

so they all have their pros and cons.

Nope. PS3 Has the best texture quality. (Yes s0l lied)

And yeah it's even worse than I thought, by sub-HD I thought it ran on 1280x720... Nope, Chuck Testa: 1024x576

    360 runs on 1152x544 and PS3 at 1280x720

Yeah texture quality is best on the PS3 due to the game running at a higher resolution, but the wiiU is using higher res textures ;)

It beats out 360, it doesn't beat the PS3 version. And even than it's barely noticeable.

I'm not going to say that Steve Lycett lied intentionally here though. It's likely that they were implementing higher res textures, but that it didn't work as well as they thought it would in the end.

What about these Melpontro videos comparing the Wii U and PC versions? Ocean View Rogues Landing Yes, its unfair to compare the two in assets, although I'm still irriated the Wii U version is missing a lot of effects and fauna around the track for...almost no reason.

I assume they're using the lower resolution on the Wii U for the tablet, especially since its the only version that goes up to 5 players.
