Hmm, you can't really go wrong with either to be honest. Gut feeling says purple. Oh, and Spoiler the real final zone sounds fucking sick! I feel bad now for my part in spoiling it for others.
well, I'd say go with the blue one, I think it feels a bit more appealing and breaks the purple scheme in a good way, (too much purple I think). It balances with the columns you have in the background as well.
Would it be possible for some blocks to be blue and others to be purple? I'm not entirely sure what it would look like but it seems like a good idea. Otherwise I'll take blue over purple. It just feels more... correct.
For me, the blue offers a little more contrast since the lights in the background, and the level in general, is more pink-purple-y in tone.
If it's just a straight casino-type level, then I'd say to go with the purple. The shade of blue that you're considering instantly made me think of an ice level. (A frozen casino, why haven't I seen that before?)
I could place the level order right after the ice level? Also, Karl sped up the music a tad too. He couldn't too much since act 2's music is quite a bit faster.
did you change the preview images by any chance? Because I see them kinda different. Now I can certainly say that the purple is much better than the blue one. Nice changes if so
I'm definitely more into the blue; it lets my eyes find Sonic more easily. The purple feels a bit interrupting. Some great level styles by the way.
Now wait a minute. Why not both? The blue doesn't make my eyes bleed anymore, but I feel like I'd eventually get bored of seeing either one. Can't you use both?
Maybe like an alternating coloring pattern, or even sectional/area specific colors (as in, indoor areas could use blue, while outdoor could use the purple)? Or perhaps one act can use blue and another purple?
I could pull a carnival night on you guys and make a switch that lights up some paths, making others unaccessable? Essentially using both colors
my idea was the tiles to flip every 30 seconds or so, they flip from blue to purple or viceversa, but probably thats not the best idea...
You mean the new lit up path would be one color, while the original path (the other color), would be darkened? Sounds cool!
